He was born in 1695 in Milan and was the son of a famous oboist and composer, Giovanni Battista Sammartini. He was a prodigy who began composing at an early age, and he went on to become one of the most important composers of the Baroque era.During his career, Sammartini composed several operas, symphonies, cantatas, and other sacred works. He was particularly noted for his oboe concertos and sonatas, which are highly acclaimed and remain popular to this day. He also wrote several treatises on music theory, which were widely studied and used by many musicians of the time. Sammartini was one of the first Italian composers to use the galant style, which featured light and graceful melodies.
