Alto Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1151918 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 8 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #752124. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1151918). This arrangement adapted for low flute duo was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement. Even though it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion, being intended for beginner students who want to immerse themselves in the universe of romantic music, and nothing better than starting with the transitional composer of this period, which also does not prevent professional teachers from using it for recitals, academic presentations or didactic material in their classes as an ensemble practice. Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor sharp, Op. 27, No. 2, is one of his most popular compositions and was an audience favorite even in his day. Written when Beethoven was 31, the Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was composed after he finished some commissioned works, but there is no evidence that he was hired to write this work. It did not receive its nickname until 1832, five years after Beethoven's death. It was the critic Ludwig Rellstab who compared the music to a moonlighting on Lake Lucerne. This comparison was adopted as a nickname for the work. Called Quasi una fantasia by the author - like its companion Op. 27, No. 1 - the piece was completed in 1801 and dedicated the following year to one of the composer's pupils. Beethoven chose to open the sonata with a slow, hypnotic arpeggio movement, the best known of the entire work. The dotted rhythm of its minimal melody evokes the tradition of 'Trauermusik' (funeral music).

Flute Duet Flute - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1087293 Composed by P. R. Frederick. Arranged by P. R. Frederick. Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. P. R. Frederick #691501. Published by P. R. Frederick (A0.1087293). Melodie uses nothing more intricate than dotted eighth-sixteenth rhythms. It is written as a flute duet in concert Ab major. Written in ABA form it opens with a lilting flute 1 melody against a contrapuntal flute 2 part. The B section is much more flowing and dynamically softer in the relative minor key. This is an excellent piece to use to teach contrasting styles and accurate articulation. This would make a great addition to any school concert or community program.

Flute Duet Flute - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844447 Composed by John Alcock, Jr. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Classical,Instructional,Standards. Score. 3 pages. Phil Beaman #3365139. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844447). A Siciliano is based on a graceful rustic dance of Sicily, and is considered a type of Pastorale. The Siciliano style always has dotted rhythms. It is normally in compound time, but I have changed it here to make it more accessible for beginners.  This arrangement is based on the opening theme from Voluntary II for Organ by John Alcock, Jr. Mr. Alcock was an organist from the Classical Period and this piece is a great example of the Classical characteristics with a lyrical melody of light elegance. The two parts, which each stay within the range of 1 octave, are equally balanced, playing in parallel thirds much of the time, and the rest of the time playing off of each other in tight ensemble work.  This makes a great recital piece to develop your melodic tone and showcase the melodies of the Classical Period.  (1 page score, 1 page @ part, with repeats - 2 1/2 minutes)recording of piano playing the two parts to give you an idea
