Flute Duet Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.588859 Composed by David McKeown. Concert,Latin,Standards,World. Score. 7 pages. David McKeown #5755293. Published by David McKeown (A0.588859). Joropo de Justina is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for two Flutes. This duet is based on the traditional Latin style of Joropo which is the national and traditional music of Venezuela. The music and its accompanying dance comes from the central plains area and is also found over the border in parts of Colombia. The basic pulse of the Joropo is 3, but this is overlaid with complex cross-rhythms. The main instrument is the harp, along with cuatro and maracas as the only percussion instrument. In the modern era other instruments may join the ensemble, especially bass. This arrangement represents the song style of Joropo, with the vocal alternating with instrumental breaks. If you play to an advanced intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The many cross rhythms will provide a rhythmic challenge and there is little time to catch breath; following the articulation in the score will help convey the style. Joropo de Justina has a performance time of around two minutes at full tempo. You can listen to a full performance the Clarinet version of this duet by following the YouTube link above. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Flute,Oboe,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811712 Composed by GIUSEPPE SAMMARTINI (1695 - 1750). Arranged by Edited by Pat Spence. Baroque,Concert. Score and parts. 24 pages. Piper Publications #4983087. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811712). This is the first of ‘VI SONATE A TRE Due Flauti col Basso’  by ‘Giuseppe San Martini  Milanese’ published in Paris as his ‘Opera Prima’ (opus 1)* by Le Clerc and Boivin ‘avec privilege du Roi’ in 1736. Giuseppe’s surname varied progressively during his life from St. Martini via San Martini to Giuseppe Sammartini. The basso part would have been played on a cello or bassoon probably with the addition of a harpsichord filling out the harmony according to the figured bass. The trio works well with three players of intermediate ability or above. One or both flute parts can be played on oboe(s) or violin(s) and this would certainly have happened in the households of the wealthy amateurs who purchased the first edition.

Flute Duet Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811771 Composed by Robert Valentine (1671 - 1747). Arranged by Edited by Pat Spence. Baroque,Concert,Graduation,Standards,Wedding. Score. 22 pages. Piper Publications #6096735. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811771). The set of 6 sonatas for two flutes were first published by John Walsh in London, a clear indication that Robert enjoyed a Europe wide reputation as a composer and performer. They are in the Baroque style written for two equal players of intermediate ability. The dynamic markings are few as the custom of contrasting dynamics on repeated sections was well known. The dynamics in parentheses ( ) are suggestions only as are the dashed phrasings. The original publication was of separate part books. The repeated sections were only indicated in part two which probably caused some initial confusion! The current edition is in playing score format. The sonatas are also suitable for pairs of oboes or violins.
