Flute,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.943191 Composed by Robert Cunningham. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and part. 50 pages. Robert E Cunningham #4728515. Published by Robert E Cunningham (A0.943191). The Variations for Flute and Piano (1990) are a dynamic and virtuosic work consisting of an original theme, ten variations, and a coda.  In addition to traditional devices like contrapuntal imitation, inversion, and fragmentation, many of the variations hearken back to earlier periods in music history.  Variation III is suggestive of an aria from Baroque opera, Variation VIII spoofs twentieth-century avant-garde music, and the piano part in Variation X evokes Rachmaninoff.  The brilliant coda is a pyrotechnic tour de force for both players.

Flute,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.866120 Composed by Gioachino Rossini, Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Yoon Jae Lee. Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 31 pages. Ondine Press #5377025. Published by Ondine Press (A0.866120). This is a piano reduction to Yoon Jae Lee’s arrangement, Variations on “Non più mesta†for flute and orchestra. The full score and set of parts are available separately. Rossini's aria from La Cenerentola Non più mesta has been a popular theme since it was first composed and is one of his most recognized tunes. Many paraphrases and variations were written on it in the 19th century for various instruments including one for violin and orchestra by Paganini. One set of variations for flute and piano is attributed to a young Chopin, who is said to have composed it for his father. For this arrangement, the variations have been expanded with an introduction and coda from the opera. A newly written orchestral accompaniment in the style of Chopin and Rossini was made along with interludes between the variations to allow the soloist to rest. The result is a new 10 minute showpiece for flute and orchestra in the same vein as Chopin's Variations on La ci da rem la mano and Rossini's variations for clarinet and orchestra. The flute part from the variations has not been altered so it is hoped that this new compilation will be a welcome addition to the solo flute repertoire. Piano,Soprano Flute - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1282823 By Peter Sheridan, Flute with John Sawoski, Piano. By Frédéric Chopin (1810–1849). Arranged by John Sawoski. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Romantic Period. Score and part. 5 pages. Million Oaks Music #874066. Published by Million Oaks Music (A0.1282823). This arrangement of Variation II from Frédéric Chopin's popular Variations on a Theme by Rossini, sounds more like the mature Chopin. Chopin wrote the Variations at age 14, probably for his father (an amateur flutist) or one of his father's friends. In this version, John Sawoski creates a virtuosic and advanced accompaniment in an idion that resembles Chopin's later compositional style, and includes a more fluid and advanced flute part as performed by Peter Sheridan.

Flute,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.996520 Composed by James Mayhew. Concert,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 16 pages. James Mayhew #5857157. Published by James Mayhew (A0.996520). *Includes the flute part on its own at the end of the file*This is a set of theme and variations in C minor (although it ends in C major) for flute and piano. The theme is a simple, melancholy melody with the first three variations on it being in C minor (and it is worth noting that the piano accompaniment is just chords for these first three variations), the fourth variation in Eb major while the fifth is the finale which includes numerous diversions from the theme and many contrasting passages of rich material, although the theme does appear in a fugato section and in another short, jig-like variation section, before it is played a couple of times near the end in the form of triumphant returns. Many passages are of an advanced level, particularly towards the end.

Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912854 Composed by Unknown. Arranged by Thomas Groh. Christmas,Contemporary. Score and part. 26 pages. Thomas Groh #3398747. Published by Thomas Groh (A0.912854). „Maria durch ein Dornwald ging (Maria walks amid the thorns) is a wonderful German Advent hymn originating from the Eichsfeld region (north of Eisenach in Thuringia). Its melody thrilled me already some years ago. As my daughter just learned to play the flute at that time, I decided to compose some variations for piano and flute (with a quite easy part for the flute). I sketched a first version of the variations comprising notably the theme and simple versions of variations no. 1, 4, 5, 8 and 9. In summer 2016, I added the other variations and revised the original ones. The variations are also available for saxophone and organ.

Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549355 Composed by Bach-Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Contemporary,Easter,Wedding. Score and individual part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3490019. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549355). This arrangement follows the original Bach prelude and so excludes the extra measure that Schwencke introduced in 1783. If you prefer the extra measure, please see Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria, Schwencke version for Violin & Piano. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance with minimal page turns for the accompanist. The duration with repeat is about 4:50. Score: 6 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores. Ave Maria Ave Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created an engaging new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival               Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.
