As the name suggests meaning lost in one's thoughts This Reverie is a fusion of two styles-classical and film music. It is in concert G major and has a lydian influence throughout in the harmonies. The piece loosely touches on multiple keys with lots of quavers movement to keep the idea of flowing thoughts, its ending is surprisingly on the chord of the 4th- again ending on the lydian note!

There are two sections, the first repeats with subtle changes and the flute has some embellishments  in the second section.
The flute range is two and a half octaves- full score is 7 pages and it is just over 5 minutes in length.

Intermediate level but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.

This edition is based on Ries' autograph score. It is, for the most part, carefully written and presents few difficulties to the editor. Nonetheless, there are instances where dynamic markings and articulations are ambiguous and, in some places, where the pitches are unclear. In order to facilitate performance, the style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardized throughout, and, where missing from the autograph, markings have been reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets.

Juliet's Waltz (named after Juliet in Romeo and Juliet to depict innocence, grace and charm)

It is romantic in nature- originally intended as a piece for classical ballet, however it was decided on a concert piece. It is written in the key of G minor for the first two sections. The first time through the flute has the melody and the second time the piano takes the melody whilst the flute embellishes the theme. After a short link it arrives in G major and the same format takes place with variations of the embellishments before a small coda section to finish.

I wanted the piece to sound through-composed with just the two sections. It is also more of a duet between flute and piano with both sharing the material. Would make a lovely concert piece or addition to the repertoire. It is 4 minutes long -Intermediate level, but the whole score is o  the youtube link for you to assess suitability.

Night Time in New York is a short concert piece for Flute and piano around 4 minutes It is a gentle romantic waltz which has blues elements It is in ternary form in concert C major- range just over 2 octaves- highest note top E

The sections are in C major and A flat major, before returning to the opening theme in C major once more -then small coda. I have set it at Intermediate level but the whole score is on here for you to assess suitability.

Should work well for concerts, recitals, productions, weddings, valentines, even has a Christmas tint. It is something perhaps a little different for the repertoire. N.B. Tenor sax, Alto sax, Clarinet in B flat, flute choir, clarinet choir and piano solo versions are available.
