Flute,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1134023 Composed by W. A. Mozart (1766 - 1791). Arranged by Pat Spence. Chamber,Classical,Instructional. Score and part. 52 pages. Piper Publications #734138. Published by Piper Publications (A0.1134023). The Sonata in Bb has been arranged from the violin sonata for flute and piano. As far as possible the original has been retained. Changes of register to accommodate the range of the flute have, in some instances, required a change of octave in the piano part. Both parts have been paged to accommodate practical page turns. No attempt has been made to indicate specific breathing places because the music so clearly indicates where a breath should be avoided. An excellent tip from my teacher, Geoffrey Gilbert, was to top up the air supply little and often so that there is plenty for a passage where a breath is not desirable. This Sonata is rewarding to play on the flute. It makes my pianist friend so much happier than playing piano reductions of the Mozart concertos.

Flute,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025532 Composed by Douglas Knehans. Contemporary. Score and part. 68 pages. Armadillo Edition #4823081. Published by Armadillo Edition (A0.1025532). **** ...wonderfully orchestrated... dynamic and endlessly evolving...-BBC Music MagazineTempest is a flute concerto and takes its idea from the movement of the wind around the world, and the  'deeper aspects of the human condition, the human experience, thought, reflection, psychology and emotion'. The turbulent opening is immediately arresting. and one can imagine the swirling wind flowing around powerfully. Pulsing rhythms and captivating brass lines reinforce this sense of power, before the mood breaks into a more gentle duo moment for flute and harp. Knehans' orchestration is imaginative and full of colour, making effective use of different timbral combinations and creating a transparency of texture through the use of solo lines from around the orchestra. The flute part is dazzling and takes centre stage with a sense of charismatic virtuosity. Challenging and exhilarating throughout, the first movement has the sort of energy one might associate with the opening movement of the lbert concerto, but intensified and developed to reflect the 21st century flute and the modem world. The second movement has a greater sense of stillness, and the flute line weaves around relatively static strings, low woodwind. Despite the stillness, an underlying intensity gives the music a brooding feel; this is music that deals with profound ideas, and as such, it is vital that the music, too, has depth. Knehans has achieved this convincingly; this is a piece which demands attention and holds you in its spell. The final movement is full of rhythmic punchiness and fantastic orchestral energy. The scoring is once again highly imaginative, making use of bassoons and low brass in pounding rhythms punctuated by the strings. Over all of this, (flutist) Gareth Davies astonishes and dazzles; displaying not only a phenomenal technique but also a magnetic energy and charisma which is spellbinding . I would not be exaggerating to say that this is one of the best flute recordings I have heard for a long time.An impressively vibrant compositional voice. Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844534 Composed by Robert Schumann. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Concert,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #3509005. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844534). In 1849 Robert Schumann completed a set of Romantic character pieces for piano which he named Forest Scenes. One of that set was called Pleasant Landscape, which I have freely arranged for accompanied Instrumental Solo. I have slowed it down considerably from the original and marked it with passionate energy. The beauty and interest is created by the shaping and phrasing of this beautiful melodic line. It has a rubato feeling throughout with constant tempo changes like rall, molto rall, freely, accel, etc. In keeping with the characteristics of the Romantic period my arrangement is full of interpretive marks in every measure making it a great piece for auditions to show your technique and interpretation. Not too difficult to play but sounds quite advanced when all details are observed. The equally beautiful piano part provides great interplay of expressive harmony and countermelody. A beautiful piece to show your expressive musicianship and impress them in either concert or audition. Marked Intermediate due to the plethora of markings to observe, musicianship that is required for a mature performance, and a 2 octave range that will push the limits of some instruments.3:10 minutes, 5 page score, 2 page solo partTemporary recording of a piano reduction of total score.

Flute,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.866120 Composed by Gioachino Rossini, Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Yoon Jae Lee. Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 31 pages. Ondine Press #5377025. Published by Ondine Press (A0.866120). This is a piano reduction to Yoon Jae Lee’s arrangement, Variations on “Non più mesta†for flute and orchestra. The full score and set of parts are available separately. Rossini's aria from La Cenerentola Non più mesta has been a popular theme since it was first composed and is one of his most recognized tunes. Many paraphrases and variations were written on it in the 19th century for various instruments including one for violin and orchestra by Paganini. One set of variations for flute and piano is attributed to a young Chopin, who is said to have composed it for his father. For this arrangement, the variations have been expanded with an introduction and coda from the opera. A newly written orchestral accompaniment in the style of Chopin and Rossini was made along with interludes between the variations to allow the soloist to rest. The result is a new 10 minute showpiece for flute and orchestra in the same vein as Chopin's Variations on La ci da rem la mano and Rossini's variations for clarinet and orchestra. The flute part from the variations has not been altered so it is hoped that this new compilation will be a welcome addition to the solo flute repertoire. Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844541 Composed by Robert Franz. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 6 pages. Phil Beaman #3516891. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844541). Robert Franz was a Romantic Era composer of lieder (German Art Song) whose pieces were highly praised by Schumann. When I removed the important lyrics from Feast of Love in order to make an accompanied instrumental solo I needed to convey the passionate drama just in the music. I changed a simple strophic form into an ABA Coda with every verse getting a different treatment. My harmony is much richer and more varied than the original. I added new articulations, dynamics, and other markings as well as a cadenza for one of the bridges.  Excellent piece for a student to learn Romantic characteristics of expression, phrase shaping, and sempre rubato.  This song is also excellent for Weddings. Alternative translations of the title are Celebration of Love and Love's Fire. You can definitely feel the fire and passion in this beautiful piece! This arrangement is not difficult to play, but is marked Early Intermediate because it requires musicianship to play well.3 minutes4 pages score, 2 page solo partTemporary recording of piano reduction of full score.
