Piano,Soprano Flute - Digital Download SKU: A0.1433845 By Traditional. By Traditional. Arranged by Joan Bujacich. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Pop,Traditional. Score and part. 10 pages. Joan Bujacich #1014054. Published by Joan Bujacich (A0.1433845). The piano and flute score is 7 pages in length, but Ms. Bujacich extracted the flute alone as well which is only 2 pages. This entire PDF then is 10 pages total with the cover. Clean, professionally notated. This arrangement by Joan Bujacich is in D Dorian mode. The flute plays the melody for the first two verses and then in the third verse it goes up an octave and the piano imitates some of the melodic lines, making for a nice dialogue between the two instruments. This medieval folk song uses  the melody later used by Simon & Garfunkel. It was first sung by Mark Anderson (1874–1953), a retired lead miner from Middleton-in-Teesdale, County Durham, England to Ewan MacColl in 1947.Scarborough Fair, was popularized in the United States by the 1960s singer-songwriting duo Simon & Garfunkel. The  folk song is about a market fair that took place in the town of Scarborough in Yorkshire during medieval times. Like any fair, it attracted traders, entertainers and food vendors, along with other hangers-on. The fair peaked in the late 14th century but continued to operate until the end of the 1700s. Now, several fairs are held in remembrance of the original.Be sure to check out Ms. Bujacich's arrangement page. She has many other great arrangements for Flute and Piano and solo piano.

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.550100 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. 20th Century,Holiday,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and part. 15 pages. Jmsgu3 #4595337. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550100). Moonlight * лунный Ñвет * 月光 * Σεληνόφωτο * MÄ›síÄní svit, Claude Debussy, 1890. Monumental impressionist masterpiece - perfect for Valentine's Day. Claude Debussy's Clair de Lune has been widely used in popular culture, particularly in film and television. It has significantly impacted modern culture, with a resurgence in its use after appearing in movies like Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The piece is favored for its ability to convey emotion and feelings without requiring lyrics, making it a popular choice for filmmakers. Clair de Lune has been featured in various movies, from Ocean's Eleven to Twilight, and has made an undeniable impact on filmmaking over the past 40 years. Its timeless beauty and emotional depth have led to reimaginings as pop songs and countless re-orchestrations, contributing to its ubiquity in cinema. Some notable movies and TV shows using Debussy's Clair de Lune include Ocean's Eleven (2001). Directed by Steven Soderbergh, this heist film showcases Clair de Lune during a pivotal scene where the characters gather to discuss their plans. Twilight: This popular film series has also featured Clair de Lune, contributing to the piece's impact on modern culture. The Shape of Water (2017): This film uses Clair de Lune to establish a dreamlike atmosphere. Moonlight (2016): Directed by Barry Jenkins, this film features Clair de Lune to embody the intense emotions of first love. These are just a few examples of the many movies and TV shows that have used Clair de Lune to enhance the emotional impact of their scenes, showcasing the composition's timeless beauty and evocative nature. Debussy was inspired by this poem by Paul Verlaine to compose this work: Your soul is a chosen landscape Where charming masquerades and dancers are promenading, Playing the lute and dancing, and almost Sad beneath their fantastic disguises. While singing in a minor key Of victorious love, and the pleasant life They seem not to believe in their own happiness And their song blends with the moonlight, With the sad and beautiful moonlight, Which sets the birds in the trees dreaming, And makes the fountains sob with ecstasy, The tall, slim water streams among the marble statues. Paul Verlaine, 1869.

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.550397 Composed by Antonio Vivaldi. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred. Score and part. 24 pages. Jmsgu3 #4628299. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550397). Sonata da Chiesa in Bb for Flute & Piano by Antonio Vivaldi in Four movements.Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) was an Italian composer and violinist in the Baroque period who is widely considered one of the greatest composers of all time. He significantly influenced many other composers of the Baroque era, and his impact can still be felt in music today.Vivaldi's most significant contribution to music history was his development of the Sonata da Chiesa or church sonata. This composition was a variation of the Baroque sonata and was used primarily in sacred music. It was characterized by a more lyrical approach to composition, focusing on melody and harmonic structure. Vivaldi was one of the first composers to use this form, and his works set the standard for future composers. His church sonatas were written in various keys and styles, and their influence can be heard in the works of later composers, such as J.S. Bach and Handel.Vivaldi's influence on music history is far-reaching, and his contributions to the development of the Sonata da Chiesa are among his most important. His compositions are still widely performed and appreciated today, and his legacy shapes modern-era music. The mood of Vivaldi's Sonata No. 1 can be described as diverse, as it typically consists of multiple movements with varying emotional qualities. Vivaldi's cello sonatas, including Sonata No. 1, are known for their attractive melodies, stylistic variety, and dance-like movements, which can evoke emotions from lively and joyful to reflective and sad. The sonatas often feature a combination of slow and quick movements, reflecting the typical structure of church sonatas from the Baroque period. Therefore, the mood of Sonata No. 1 is likely to encompass a spectrum of emotional expressions characteristic of Vivaldi's compositional style.

Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912276 Composed by Anthony Whittaker. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score and individual part. 8 pages. Anthony Whittaker #36019. Published by Anthony Whittaker (A0.912276). A characterful, descriptive piece for flute and piano of intermediate difficulty, ideal for recitals or festivals at c. 1' 47 The download contains the score and flute part. This piece draws its inspiration from a trip to Rome in 2014 where the composer was invited to enjoy, but did not always accept, large plates of pasta and regional wines every evening by a persuasive hotel waiter. The fictional character 'Florian' in this piece is the composer's idea of the waiter himself going out to dine full of ebullience and eagerness. Choosing his items whimsically from the menu, he decides, eats with gusto, then after paying a large bill, he disappears into the night with a carefree nod and farewell. www.anthonywhittaker.co.uk Twitter: @tonywhittaker.

Published by Adrienne Albert (A0.876764). Sam's Dance is named after my father, Sam.  He had the lithe physique of an athlete whose only sport was Walking. Sam religiously walked five miles everyday of his life.  Suddenly, he had to have an operation on his foot, of all places. While sitting in the hospital waiting for his results, images of my father walking with a cane paraded as a three-legged waltz. The bravado of the opening and closing sections are bookends surrounding the melancholy melodies that characterized the character of a man constantly searching for lost dreams, hopes and loves..  for more details, email: adrienne@adriennealbert.com  or go on www.adriennealbert.com

Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549429 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3494181. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549429). Score: 7 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Duration: 4:25. Not difficult, but requires sensitivity & dynamic control. Suitable for recitals, church meditations, or school programs. Dvořák Background Antonín Dvořák (1841 –1904) was, of course, a composer from Czechoslovakia. As a matter of fact, he was among the first Bohemian composers to attain universal recognition. It is important to realize that the late Romantic Nationalist period featured composers who used traditional and folk elements to portray the character of their nation. In particular, we see this in the music of Grieg (Norway), Finland (Sibelius), and Smetana (Bohemia).  Dvořák relied markedly on rhythms and other characteristics of Moravian and Bohemian folk music. Ascent to Fame Dvořák was truly a child musical prodigy on the violin. The premiere performances of his compositions notably occurred in 1872 and 1873. He submitted his First Symphony in particular to a German competition, but it failed to win. Consequently, in 1874 he presented two more symphonies to the Austrian State Prize for Composition. Johannes Brahms was the principal of the jury and was accordingly very impressed. They forthwith awarded the prize to Dvořák in 1874, 1876, and 1877. At this point, Brahms thereupon endorsed Dvořák to the publisher Simrock. Later, the publisher commissioned Dvořák to compose the Slavonic Dances, Op. 46. These became popular overnight and, as a result, Dvořák's worldwide status was launched. International Status Dvořák visited England upon invitation nine times. On each visit, he frequently conducted performances of his own compositions. He conducted concerts of his music, especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Eventually, the Prague Conservatory in fact appointed Dvořák as a professor. There, to be sure, he wrote his famous Dumky Trio. United States Consequently, the National Conservatory of Music of America appointed him as director in 1892. As a result, Dvořák composed his two most famous symphonic works: the Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), which spread his name universally, and his Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, one of the most famous of all cello works. Moreover, he wrote his most celebrated American String Quartet during this time. At the same time, because of his growing recognition in Europe and his homesickness for his own country, he left to return to Bohemia in 1895.

Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844503 Composed by Robert Schumann. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #3488525. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844503). In 1849 Robert Schumann completed a set of Romantic character pieces for piano which he named Forest Scenes. One of that set was called Roadside Inn, which I have arranged for Instrumental Solo with Piano Accompaniment. In keeping with the characteristics of the Romantic period my arrangement is full of contrasts and constant shifts between dynamics, articulations, and themes. I took themes and fragments of themes from the original and re-ordered them into a bit of a rondo form. There are interpretive marks in every measure making it a great piece for auditions to show your technique and interpretation. Not too difficult to play but sounds quite advanced when all details are observed. Another feature is the beautiful harmonic interplay between the solo and accompaniment. To be played warmly and with passion to welcome people to your Roadside Inn.  2 1/2 minutes, 5 page score, 2 page solo partTemporary MIDI recording; a live performance will be much more expressive and free

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844534 Composed by Robert Schumann. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Concert,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #3509005. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844534). In 1849 Robert Schumann completed a set of Romantic character pieces for piano which he named Forest Scenes. One of that set was called Pleasant Landscape, which I have freely arranged for accompanied Instrumental Solo. I have slowed it down considerably from the original and marked it with passionate energy. The beauty and interest is created by the shaping and phrasing of this beautiful melodic line. It has a rubato feeling throughout with constant tempo changes like rall, molto rall, freely, accel, etc. In keeping with the characteristics of the Romantic period my arrangement is full of interpretive marks in every measure making it a great piece for auditions to show your technique and interpretation. Not too difficult to play but sounds quite advanced when all details are observed. The equally beautiful piano part provides great interplay of expressive harmony and countermelody. A beautiful piece to show your expressive musicianship and impress them in either concert or audition. Marked Intermediate due to the plethora of markings to observe, musicianship that is required for a mature performance, and a 2 octave range that will push the limits of some instruments.3:10 minutes, 5 page score, 2 page solo partTemporary recording of a piano reduction of total score.

Flute,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1042377 Composed by Jamie Farrow. Classical,Contemporary. Score and part. 12 pages. Jamie Farrow #647168. Published by Jamie Farrow (A0.1042377). This is a piece for flute and piano duo. Fastnet Rock, home to the Fastnet Lighthouse, is Ireland’s most southerly point situated in the Atlantic Ocean, famous for massive waves that engulf the island during storms. Three photographs (see below) and the lighthouse’s history were my inspiration for this duet, with the different images and ideas that they created, influencing my composition’s structure, themes and ideas at play. The piece starts at sunset and finishes at sunrise, with four sections each representing a different moment that follow a gradually developing structure through the first three sections before a gentle reprise of the ideas from Section 1 (S1) in Section 4 (S4). This gives a cyclicity to the piece, furthered by the tonal regions explored in each of the sections; Ebmaj to Amin to Bmin to Amin to Ebmaj. S1 invokes thoughts of the colours of sunset It is divided into four sub-sections, characterised by either solo flute or flute with piano, with each section exploring a different range of colours generated by their keys. Throughout, accidentals provide additional colour reminiscent of light diffracted during a sunset with the piano in the duo section voiced low in its range adding warmth explored through pivot chords. The flute plays in a very free recitative style, allowing the flautist individual expression emphasising the organicity of sunset as each performer will express this section differently. Section 2 (S2) and Section 3 (S3) are closely related, focusing on night-time through to sunrise in S4, with S2 providing the build up to the events of S3. In S2 the piano plays at the extremes of its range with widely spaced chords and no sense of beat, creating stillness and a sense of uneasiness through the constantly and irregularly beating A. The flute represents the rising storm and wind playing an organically-evolving motif beginning low in range, before gradually adding more notes and slowly rising, eventually reaching a dramatic climax which explores the extremities of its range whilst accelerating into S3. The drama and large gestures of S3 represent an Atlantic storm, a wall of oscillating sound through repeated piano ostinatos and constant use of the sustain pedal. Coupled with the frequently changing time-signature creating a sense of wild waves rolling in the ocean, the chordal bars percussively suggesting waves hitting the island. The flute captures the drama and emotion of the storm and the whistling wind, with long rising and falling gestures exploring the instrument’s very extremities. S4 brings the morning after the storm. We hear the same flute idea as in S1, this time played in the sadder Amin, communicating a sense of loss and despair following the storm. The piano emulates the now gently lapping waves against the rocks of Fastnet with the triplet motif in the bass. The right-hand of the piano plays a chordal accompaniment as in S1 but much slower, representing the slowly emerging colours of a sunrise which become richer and richer like the chords before the sunrise in the final few bars with a move into Ebmaj.
