Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1175997 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Joan Bujacich. Easter,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score and part. 4 pages. Joan Bujacich #776123. Published by Joan Bujacich (A0.1175997). That Easter Day With Joy Was Bright,  also titled That Eastertide With Joy was Bright, arranged for Flute with an easy, Junior level Piano accompanimnet in the hymnal key of D major. This ancient Hymn is performed at Easter. The beautiful tune is labeled PUER NOBIS and is a melody from a fifteenth-century manuscript from Trier. However, the tune probably dates from an earlier time and may even have folk roots. PUER NOBIS was first altered in Spangenberg's Christliches GesangbUchlein (1568), in Petri's famous Piae Cantiones (1582). Most hymnals have it in the key of D, so that is the key I arranged it in. The lyrics are noted with the music for verse.  The accompaniment supports the melody allowing the flute to phrase and interpret without too much complexity.  Though the harmony is somewhat reduced from the hymnal , 4-part version, it still has  color and interest and works nicely accompanying  the solist. Adult beginners will also get satisfaction from this arrangement, the 4 part writing in hymnals are usually to hard for this level player, that is why I arranged it so more people can enjoy this lovely Easter song. For more Easter arrangements, I also have a nice arrangement of On This Day Earth Shall Ring (A bit harder), Mary Did You KNow (Great both at Christmas and Easter)  and the secular Easter music, Easter Parade and Peter Cottontail, all available here on Sheet Music Plus!

Piano,Soprano Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1437015 By Milva. By Carlo Carunchio, Ennio Morricone, and Giuseppe Patroni Griffi. Arranged by Eileen Gilligan. 21st Century,Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,Traditional. Score and part. 9 pages. The Flautist #1017083. Published by The Flautist (A0.1437015). D'Amore Si Muore is an excellent way to practice words, expression and phrasing. In this case variations on “love you ” all the way through.Relates brilliantly to Melodious Studies number 11, 13, 14 and also 8.I am a big fan of playing slowly and having absolute control of everything I do down to the last detail and a melody like this is a great tool to practice this. I don’t believe one can play fast before control over slow playing and expression is mastered. Our most natural instrument is our voice . Singing and playing this melody is a terrific way to bridge the gap between the metal flute and one’s voice. The outcome is an amazing resonance ,musical quality in the tone and natural phrasing.Moyse was asked what he thought the French School of flute playing was and he answered” being able to sound like other instruments”. We have to start with the first port of call – our voice. The words you can use for phrasing are ” love you , love you , love you , love you, love you so.” “I really love you so much” ” I really love you so” etc all the way through . You can make up your own.It is worth singing and playing this through. By that I mean play 2 notes, sing 2 and play 2 all the way through without interrupting the musical flow, resonance and tone quality. Great for practising going between singing and playing quickly.Love was a favourite word of Moyse and Wibb. I see why!. It innately has so much expression, warmth, opens up the mouth and in Moyse’s words “scoops the last spoonful of mayonnaise from the jar. ” You definitely can’t say it with “an ugly nasal voice”- Moyse quote. The tone has to have life and expression. I hear so often soft playing as the player blowing softly but that gives such a dull lifeless outcome.

Flute,Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.1035219 Composed by Piotr Tchaikovski. Arranged by James Strauss. Halloween,Hanukkah,Romantic Period,World. Score and part. 16 pages. James Strauss #5297983. Published by James Strauss (A0.1035219). Writing to his brother Modest on 18/30 January 1877, Tchaikovsky mentioned that the violinist Iosif Kotek had ordered a piece from him for a forthcoming concert. Four days later Kotek wrote to Tchaikovsky: Thank you in advance for the waltz; it will surely be wonderful, as is everything that you compose... this shall be a piece to impress everybody. In another letter from mid/late February, we read: Incidentally, about the waltz. Why force yourself if you are tired? Of course, I would be delighted and infinitely glad if you were to write the waltz, especially since it is for me. I am still very glad that you have even started to think about this.In the period from March to August, we find no further references to work on the Valse. But, given that in March and April, Tchaikovsky wrote his Fourth Symphony, and that in May he was completely absorbed in composing the opera Yevgeny Onegin, it is likely that by this time the Valse had already been completed. It seems that the waltz was partly or wholly orchestrated by Kotek after Tchaikovsky completed the version for violin with piano. This is suggested by two letters from Kotek to Tchaikovsky: in October 1878, the violinist reported to Tchaikovsky on an unsuccessful performance of the piece: Could my instrumentation be the reason that the waltz did not please?, and early in 1879 he wrote: I think that I badly orchestrated the Waltz ... what extraordinarily empty sounds!. None of Tchaikovsky's letters refer to the orchestration of the piece. Here for the very first time in aversion for flute and piano - I tried to not transcribe the violin part, but re-write the solo part as it was made for flute.
