This arrangement works as either a string trio or you can make it a quintet by adding the 2nd violin and viola to further support the vocal parts.

This piece can also be played as string quintet w/o voices and is great piece for gigs, or as an encore to the Schubert Cello Quintet, for example.

This Sanctus is one of only three parts that survive from the Missa Brevis ad Puerum (Small Mass for a Boy) written by the composer, Daniel Hay, as a memorial for his cousin, Farley McDaniel. Most of the original work was lost during Hurricane Katrina events. The mass was intended for SATB solo voices but could be performed as SATB choral.
