Ningal is a slave girl at the time of the Pharoahs in Egypt (ironically named after the Sumerian-Akkadian Goddess, mother of the Sun God).  When the Egyptian queen dies, Ningal is one of the slaves who have to follow her into the tomb and to die there. This is her simple but effective song (Now is the time of our going into darkness, from darkness to light).  The sound sample is an electronic preview of the song, with clarinet representing the voice.  The clarinet and guitar version is also available on this site.
