John Baptist Loeillet, a Flemish Baroque composer, wrote six sonatas for flute and basso continuo in his Op. 5 No. 2. This work is widely considered to be some of his most significant compositions, and they are still performed today.

The sonatas are divided into three movements each, with two slow movements and one faster one. The flute part is very demanding, as Loeillet often wrote in the high register, and the accompanying basso continuo part provides a solid foundation for the piece. Arranged clarinet duo. Parts provided for Bb 1, Bb 2 and bass. Duets can be either 2 Bb clarinets or Bb and Bass clarinet Originally written for clarinet and bassoon, this is my arrangement for clarinet duet. This is the !st mvt Allegro affettuoso of No.2, transposed from T down to Eb so that both Bb clarinets are playing in the original key of F (Originally written for a C clarinet).

The 2nd clt part has been transposed up an octave from the original bassoon part, but in other places left alone , to avoid any cross over of parts.

The bass clarinet part is a straihttforward transcription from the bassoon part. It works well as a clarinet duet.

Duets can be either 2 Bb clarinets or Bb and Bass clarinet Originally written for clarinet and bassoon, this is my arrangement for clarinet duet. This is the !st mvt Allegro Commod of No.1, transposed from C down to Bb so that both Bb clarinets are playing in the original key of C (Which was written for a C clarinet). The 2nd clt part has been transposed up an octave from the original bassoon part, but in other places left alone , to avoid any cross over of parts. The bass clarinet part is a straihtforward transcription from the bassoon part.

It works well as a clarinet duet.

The Sonata was written in 1775 for bassoon & cello for his friend, Thaddäus von Dürniz, an amateur bassoon player.It was not published until 2005, fourteen years after Mozart's death. Here the three movements - Allegro, Andante & Rondo Allegro are arranged for 2 clarinets. Players of intermediate standard and above will enjoy the interplay between the parts and concert audiences will be well entertained.
