Silent Durations XIX (a Zen experience) for tenor and baritone saxophones was written for Céline Poggioli and Isèle Penaud and premiered at the 14th World Saxophone Congress in Ljubliana, Slovenia on July 8, 2006. The duo works together in a variety of ways, sometimes homophonic, polyphonic or as solos in conversational dialogs throughout. These Silent Duration pieces are notable for their incorporation of silence as an integral part of the compositional fabric. The duration is 6'50.

TWO BEATS, in this version for any two like members of the saxophone family, is a version of BEATS with an added second part. The original version of BEATS for soprano recorder was written in 2014 for Maria Dorner-Hofmann, a German recorder virtuoso who also teaches at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. The work, in 7 minutes, explores the evolution of repetitive cellular ideas using various meters, lengths of cells and musical atmospheres. There are simple passages as well as virtuosic ones and the energy level of the piece remains at a highly intensive level throughout the entire seven minutes.
