Tenor Saxophone Duet Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587315 By Steve Tyrell. By John Frederick Coots. Arranged by David McKeown. Christmas,Holiday,Jazz,Pop,Rock. Score. 3 pages. David McKeown #3132723. Published by David McKeown (A0.587315). Santa Claus is Coming to Town was written in 1934 by Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie. Although it was a big sheet music seller at the time, it was Perry Como’s 1951 recording that turned it into a major hit. The simple harmony and melody have made this a perennial favourite with everyone from Sinatra to the Jacksons, Maria Carey and Bruce Springsteen. This version borrows from the swinging jazz style of various Sinatra recordings and is arranged as a duet for two Tenor Saxophones. Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal Christmas performances. There are syncopated swing rhythms and some less familiar accidentals. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes. The short audio sample is from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version while the full length performance on the youtube link is the Clarinet duet. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with jazz rhythms and articulation. Alto Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497575 Composed by Germaine Tailleferre. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Film/TV. Saxophone Duet. 5 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #1073989. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.1497575). Born on February 23, 1924, in La Flèche, Jacques Bouillault was 21 years old when, in 1945, he met the Marquise Hélène Rola de Rosycki, who settled him in a forest lodge located southeast of the town, on the Tertre-Rouge hill. Initially, he established himself there as a naturalist-taxidermist. His preserved animals were joined by live ones: birds, foxes, reptiles, rodents... In 1955, the filmmaker Marco de Gastyne made a short film about Bouillault and his zoological park entitled Homme, Notre Ami (Man, Our Friend), with music by Germaine Tailleferre, who was particularly drawn to animals. The « Singes » (Monkeys) sequence is intended to illustrate the capers and other playful activities of these primates in a rather humorous manner.

Tenor Saxophone Duet Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587765 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Folk,Ragtime,Standards. Score. 5 pages. David McKeown #4896841. Published by David McKeown (A0.587765). The most popular of Scott Joplin’s piano rags during his lifetime, The Maple Leaf Rag was published in 1899. Joplin lived for a while in Sedalia, Missouri and the Maple Leaf Club in that town is thought to have provided the name for this composition. It provided Joplin with a steady income for the rest of his life, and while he requested that it be played at his funeral, his wife refused as she felt it inappropriate. It was the first track on Joshua Rifkin’s famous 1970 revival recording of Joplin’s music and, never waning in popularity, it has featured in hundreds of films. This version for Tenor Saxophone Duet includes all four sections of the original composition. The tempo in recorded versions varies widely between 72 and 126, so the marking of 92 is a suggestion only. The linked youtube performance is the Alto Saxophone version of this duet and the repeats are omitted for brevity.Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances.
