GigueThe Sonatine for Two Like Saxophones is dedicated to the memory of Germaine Tailleferreand is especially influenced by her Sonata for Solo Clarinet, a work in which she exploredatonal language. It may be played on any two saxophones of the same type (ie two sopranosaxophones in Bb, two baritone saxophones in Eb etc). The work is in three movements. The first, « Invention », uses a strict contrapunctaltreatment of a theme in fourths. The Second, « Arioso », is a slow lyric dance in ¾. TheThird movement, « Gigue », is based on a « hunting horn » motif which also exploits the useof 6/8 superimposed on ¾.

Tenor Saxophone Duet Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1496273 Composed by Edmund Hartzell. Children,Comedy,Halloween,Jazz,March. Score. 44 pages. Masquerade Music #1072813. Published by Masquerade Music (A0.1496273). Tuneful Tales is a new collection of 14 pieces from the UK composer and educator Edmund Hartzell. This edition is for saxophone duet (for any two same saxophones e.g.alto/alto, soprano/soprano, baritone/baritone or tenor/tenor - sorry the listing options did not allow me to add these options). The book consists of main book (duet layout) and separate pull out part (duet layout) for player 2. The duets can also work for alto/baritone, and soprano/tenor combinations but are really written for two same saxophones. The MP3 audio excerpt and youtube demo are given on two alto saxophones and are merely a guide. These magical miniatures are varied and eclectic and really help fire the imagination of players and teachers alike. The pieces are suitable for beginner to intermediate players (c.grades 1-4 UK) and make a wonderful addition to teaching and concert repertoire for adults and children alike. They are also good preparation for exam pieces and can be used as 'own choice' exam pieces with certain exam boards (subject to difficulty level and length parameters). Players are encouraged to expand on the stories to make the most of the performance aspects of each piece/tale. Contents: The Woodlouse Baby Barcarolle Sebastian's March Ghost Ship Cool Cow Pharaoh's Pyjamas Gillockasaurus IOU Robot Purple Choo Bubblegum Witch's Cauldron Ants in the Kitchen A Very Sad Song Triceratops Triathlon Catalogue number: MM0092ISMN: 9790570770465Also available in other editions including flute and piano, clarinet and piano, and alto/tenor saxiphone duet editions.

Alto Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1402117 By Ibrahim Gunbardhi. By Juan María Solare. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Latin. Saxophone Duet. 38 pages. Juan Maria Solare #985321. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.1402117). Eisenbahn, this cycle of 11 pieces for two saxophones is an important milestone in Juan María Solare's output. The pieces are dedicated to the Albanian clarinetist Ibrahim Gunbardhi, which requires telling a little anecdote: For a few years, the composer lived as a neighbor of the clarinetist in Bremen-Lesum, Germany. Each Thursday, there were clarinet and saxophone lessons for several hours. The sounds awakened the composer and mixed themselves in his dreams. From that to composing a cycle of duos was just a simple step. All titles of the cycle are related to the railroad (but in German): The rails meet on the horizon, Unexpected meeting in the on-board bistro, Trees passing by, Curious cows watch us go by, End station, and many others. Why eleven pieces? Some would prefer a round number such as ten or twelve. However, eleven is the composer's favorite number - among other things because it is a prime number and because he was born on the eleventh (of August).Musically speaking, this cycle of pieces is quite rhythmic, particularly with rhythms related to South America.More trivia? For the basic textural idea of the eighth piece ('Nap on the train'), the composer developed an old composition exercise that he had written in the early 80s.Three pieces of the cycle Eisenbahn (Ibrahim Gunbardhi and Thomas Sauer):Three pieces of the cycle Eisenbahn (composer: Juan María Solare)
