Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.591217 Composed by David McKeown. Blues,Easter,Jazz,R & B. Score and parts. 3 pages. David McKeown #6286569. Published by David McKeown (A0.591217). The Spring Chicken Swing is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Flute and one Clarinet. The Spring Chicken Swing is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Swing in the narrow sense defines the rhythmic feel and articulation of jazz music, but the word has come to define the Big Band Jazz era of the ‘30s and’40s and the new-style dances that came with it.The Spring Chicken Swing is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo, some syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Spring Chicken Swing is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956624 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 7 pages. C Melville-Mason #6482647. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956624). The flashy, up-beat nature of this piece makes it ideal as the closing item or encore in a short recital programme.  Played up to speed, Slavonic Dance Op. 46/3 requires accurate finger-work and smooth transitions between registers, as well as sensitivity to the relationship between the two parts - hence its classification as 'advanced intermediate'.  Slavonic Dances Op 46, written in 1878, was something of a breakthrough work for Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, finally establishing his reputation well beyond his native land.  The dances are original melodies, inspired by, and drawing on, the character of traditional national dances, rather than works based on existing folk tunes, as was the fashion among composers at around that time.  These Slavonic Dances were originally written for piano 4 hands but, at his publisher’s request, Dvorak produced orchestrated versions shortly thereafter.  The pieces proved so popular that Dvorak composed a second set, Op. 72, in 1886. Op. 46, No. 3 is in the form of the polka, a dance which originated in Bohemia.

Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #3222143. Published by David McKeown (A0.587377). David McKeown #6366105. Published by David McKeown (A0.592496). It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Clarinet. It’s Been a Long Long Time is best known to modern audiences as the song at the end Avengers: Endgame, where Steve Rogers, after seventy years, finally gets to dance with Peggy Carter. The song of course, is much older. Two versions of It’s Been a Long Long Time topped the charts in late 1945, and as US servicemen returned from Europe and the Pacific, it perfectly caught the mood of the times. One version was by Bing Crosby, and the other by the Harry James Orchestra featuring Kitty Kallen on vocals. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both parts enjoying plenty of melodic interest. The overall performance time is just over two and a half minutes. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #5306089. Published by David McKeown (A0.588136). When I’m Sixty-Four first appeared on the Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt. This version of When I’m Sixty-Four is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Clarinet. The full YouTube performance above is the Clarinet version of this duet.Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance.
