Since Joannes Rochut's 1928 arrangements of the Bordogni Vocalises for the Trombone, these bel canto etudes have become the backbone of every serious musician of that instrument. Rochut's three books comprising the 120 Bordogni etudes focus on most every facet of trombone legato, beauty of sound and even provide some rhythmic and technical challenges, especially in Book III.

Ran Whitely has done an excellent job of composing the accompaniment to these gorgeous melodies with his new work Melodious Duets for Trombones, Book III (91-120) based on the same by Mr. Rochut. These challenging duets for advanced performers will test the skills of the performers in ensemble, intonation, blend, technique and rhythm.
