Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1016586 Composed by R. Currier III. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 10 pages. R. Currier III #6134695. Published by R. Currier III (A0.1016586). Starting out sounding very traditional, this piece evolves from folk song to a wistful, more contemporary, contemplative work. Periodic double stops and high registers in both parts add challenging elements to counterbalance the more sedate nature of the piece as a whole. This piece is a perfect choice to provide an introspective moment in a program. Thanks for stopping by to check out A Lonely Saturday. Instrumental Duet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1402228 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Kamada, Mikio. Baroque. 19 pages. ACORDO Sheet Music #985435. Published by ACORDO Sheet Music (A0.1402228). Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) is a famous piece for the organ. Surprisingly, it wasn't very popular when Bach was alive. It was first published in 1833 by Felix Mendelssohn in a collection called noch wenig bekannte Orgelcompositinen. Mendelssohn performed it in 1840, which made it more well-known. This piece is different from Bach's later works in style and composition; for example, the fugue is relatively simple. Music expert Peter Williams suggested in his 2003 book The Organ Music of J. S. Bach that it might have originally been written for solo violin. Following his idea, some people tried to adapt it for solo violin, with some versions in A minor based on his suggestion. While it's unsure if Williams' idea is correct, it implies that this piece might work well for string instruments. We decided to arrange it for a Violin and Viola Duet, trying to stay close to the original organ version. However, because of technical reasons, we had to remove some parts. Our first arrangement was liked at a small concert in 2022. During this, we realized that the music could be good for string ensembles. We also found that removing some notes made the remaining ones stand out, sometimes making a special beauty. This suggests that the music might have been meant for string instruments originally. We first planned to publish this arrangement in 2020, but we changed our minds. We wanted as many people as possible to enjoy this wonderful piece, so we decided to publish two versions. Version 1 is similar to the organ score, sounding familiar but being technically hard. In contrast, Version 2 skips some notes, making it easier technically. Players will still experience the unique beauty of string ensembles with intentional note removal. The choice between the two depends on what players prefer and their skill level. To help players understand better, we've used colored notes. Different colors show different voices, helping players know each instrument's role. In Version 2, green notes show parts where both instruments play the same thing. While these notes are optional, playing them will help synchronize the two parts.Turning pages can be hard because there aren't many rests. We suggest using a tablet or arranging music stands side by side with all six pages in a row. If that's not possible, we suggest connecting pages 1-3 and 4-6 horizontally with cardboard. Put pages 1-3 in front and 4-6 in the back. For specific instructions during the piece:- The Violin plays the Viola part in bar 74, shown by solid parentheses. Turn the page after playing the third beat of bar 75 and don't play the Violin part in bar 76 (marked with dashed brackets), as the Viola will play it.- The Viola turns the page right after playing bar 73. Instead of playing the part in dashed parentheses in bar 74 (which the Violin will play), play the Violin part of bar 75 (marked with actual parentheses).

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Viola,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.917391 By John Legend. By John Stephens and Toby Gad. Arranged by Simeon Goode. R & B,Soul. Score and parts. 15 pages. Simeon Goode #4782719. Published by Simeon Goode (A0.917391). This arrangement is designed to make the most of a limited instrumentation and be as recognizably like the original as possible, while still capitalizing on the instruments used. The viola leads the way in this arrangement, and has most of the melodic material (although, the violin does take over at the climax of the piece), while the violin often does arpeggiated flourishes mimicking the pianistic playing of the original music. The two instruments keep the timbre of the piece high and light, but are kept a register away from each other, and never cross over each other, maintaining a clean sound.Great for weddings and small chamber situations where this light, flowing, and emotional piece of music is sure to please!

If you can’t find a title then contact me through stringquartet@hotmail.com and I’ll give you the link back to Sheet Music Plus’s listing. VERSATILE Titles that include four parts are written with the idea that they can be performed with 1, 2, 3 or 4 musicians. Most of the contemporary/popular titles include a chord chart for a bass instrument. PRACTICE needs would vary according to the level of the performers but my goal is to be sight-readable for most performers and groups.  AUDIO SAMPLE The 30 second mp3 is frequently shortened and may not start at the introduction to get to the reprise. The actual introduction will be in the sheet music. LISTENABILITY I have performed thousands of weddings and special events. I make it a goal for the music to carry as well as possible through loud and large space situations.  ARRANGEMENTS usually follow the original version. There is an mp3 where you can hear 30 seconds and get a feeling of the originality of the work. EXCELLENT for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings and recitals. APPROPRIATE for students and schools. CHURCH REPERTOIRE I’m always adding more titles. Thank you for your purchase!

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.921975 By Elvis Presley. By George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti, and Luigi Creatore. Arranged by Krista Broadway Swider. Rock. Score and parts. 4 pages. Krista Swider #6570443. Published by Krista Swider (A0.921975). At not quite 3 minutes (2:56), this Elvis classic is a favorite of humans everywhere. This arrangement of, Can't Help Falling in Love, is great for weddings; its simple format and easy cadences helps it work beautifully for processionals. I wrote this arrangement primarily in C Major as the intro is very polyphonic in nature, and I wanted to include multiple voicings in each part to help the piece sound as if it's written more for string quartet than duo. The first full verse features the violin on melody, but with the key change into the chorus, the viola takes over the melody and the violin floats over the top with a mix of a harmonic descant and its own series of triplets. The song is repeated and the parts continue to trade off with each instrument getting a chance at both the melody and the accompaniment.

By Atticus Ross, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jocelyn Donald, Kiowa Roukema, Montero Lamar Hill, and Trent Reznor. Arranged by Simeon Goode. Pop. Score and parts. 6 pages. Simeon Goode #4784125. Published by Simeon Goode (A0.917394). Now this hit song can be played anywhere with two string players! This arrangement is sure to be a crowd pleaser with it's easy-to-identify use of melody and attention to the harmony of the original song. The arrangement makes use of plenty of pizzicato to recreate the sounds of rustic guitar-playing that make up the identity of the original piece. While not being so easy that it's boring, the piece is quick to pick up and should be a breeze to play through. The key has been changed to A natural minor for easier playing on the instruments.
