By The Beatles. By George Harrison. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Score and parts. 6 pages. David McKeown #5317717. Published by David McKeown (A0.588320).

Here Comes the Sun first appeared on The Beatles’ 1969 album, Abbey Road. It was written by George Harrison on a warm spring day whilst walking around Eric Clapton’s garden. The recording of Here Comes the Sun was one of the first British songs to feature a Moog synthesiser. In the digital age, Here Comes the Sun is the most streamed Beatles song by some distance.

This version of Here Comes the Sun is arranged as a duet for one Violin and one Viola.

This arrangement of Here Comes the Sun is ideal for musicians at an intermediate level. There are syncopated rhythms in both parts throughout and the changing time signatures may present a challenge for some. The overall performance time is around three minutes. The full length YouTube performance above is the Clarinet version of this duet.

Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is a little over three minutes. The full YouTube performance linked above is the Clarinet version of this duet.

By David Cook. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #5303289. Published by David McKeown (A0.588127).

Eleanor Rigby first appeared on the Beatles’ 1966 album, Revolver. There has been much speculation over the identity of Eleanor Rigby, and a gravestone bearing that name has been discovered close to where Paul McCartney grew up in Liverpool. But Paul McCartney insists that he chose the natural-sounding name as a combination of a friend’s name and a shop he noticed in Bristol. Indeed, the original working title of the song was Miss Daisy Hawkins.

This version of Eleanor Rigby is arranged as a duet for one Violin and one Viola. The YouTube sample above is the Clarinet version of this duet.

Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes.

Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with ensemble skills and expressive playing.

By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #5309675. Published by David McKeown (A0.588228).

Yellow Submarine, by the Beatles, was released on the 1966 album, Revolver. The song was written by Lennon and McCartney with the limited range of Ringo Starr’s voice in mind. The recording of Yellow Submarine included numerous sound effects and backing vocals from everyone from Marianne Faithful to Brian Jones. There has been much speculation as to what the lyrics of Yellow Submarine might mean, but Lennon and McCartney insisted it was just a nonsense rhyme for children.

This version of Yellow Submarine is arranged as a duet for one Violin and one Viola. The full YouTube performance above is the Clarinet version off this arrangement.

Musicians at an early intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes.
