This book is an arrangement for violin and viola of the popular book, The Violinist Meets the Fiddler, for two violins. It is designed to introduce students to traditional fiddle tunes, combined with familiar classical melodies in fun, easily accessible arrangements. In the twelve duets included in this book, the first violin part is designed for the more advanced student, on the level of Suzuki Violin School, Books 3-5. Third position, rapid passage work involving string crossings and chromaticism are utilized. The viola part ranges in level from Books 1-3 and remains in first position. Double stops can be found in both parts. In the viola part, double stops usually involve open strings. Classical pieces include works of Bach, Beethoven, Dvorak, Handel, Mozart, Offenbach, Pachelbel, Schubert, Rossini, Vivaldi and Johann Strauss. Violinist, Composer, He earned his Master's degree from the Michigan State University (Majored in Violin). Kim has formerly been concertmaster of Daegu City Sym. Orchestra as well as for the Michigan State University Orchestra. He was an advising professor for the Czech Republic's Dobřichovice International Music Camp, and now Korean Suzuki Association Music Camp.
Since 2004, his compositions have been periodically performed by I Musici. His compositions have also been performed and recorded by the Vienna Waltz Orchestra, in Austria, the French Chamber Orchestra in France, and the Sophia Chamber Orchestra in Russia. Mr. Kim is a former Dean of Changwon National University's College of Performing Arts. Currently he teaches student as Emeritus professor of Changwon National University.

F. C.’s Jig adapted for violin and viola is from the album Appalachia Waltz which features Mark O’Connor and Yo-Yo Ma playing the jig. O’Connor utilized the third movement of his Fiddle Concerto and arranged from it a violin and viola duet. The result is thrilling - a virtuoso duet full of melody, interplay and energy, pushing both instruments all the way to its conclusion. F. C.’s Jig is a spirited, well known derivation of the Fiddle Concerto’s jig. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels.

Henry Eccles (1670–1742) was an English composer and violinist.  Violin Sonata in g-minor is very popular, which corresponds to 12 Sonatas for Violin and Continuo, Book 1: No. 11, in 1720.  It consists of the following movements:

III. Adagio

IV. Allegro vivace.

The music note is based on the princeps edition in 1720, and was arranged for Violin & Viola duet.
