Crosby responded to it by saying Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine. The lyrics are similar to Hebrews 10:22.  Arranged for Lever or Pedal Harps, the melody is equally divided between parts. Carrickfergus is a town in County Antrim, north of Belfast. The lyrics tell of a nostalgic person missing his homeland and wishing he could move back to Carrickfergus. In this arrangement, the beautiful melody is augmented by flowing arpeggiated interludes representing the sound of waves from the sea. The Multi-level pieces were initially arranged in an A Version. When that was completed, it was then simplified to form the B Version.  The B Version has thinner lines and allows more time for placing the fingers. The purpose is to permit harpists of various playing levels to enjoy performing together. In the key of G, the melody is divided evenly between parts. Dynamics are clearly marked. Aaron Copland included the melody in his ballet, Appalachian Spring (1944). Arrangements of Simple Gifts has been sung at three US Presidential Inaugurations (1985, 1993 and 2009).   The Multi-level pieces were initially arranged in an A Version. In 1905, Fritz Kreisler composed a set of three pieces that he called his old Viennese Dance Tunes in honor of his hometown, Vienna. Liebesfreud is the first piece of the set. Quite often, Kreisler performed the set as an encore. The pedal and lever harp duet versions differ in the pedal/lever markings and harmony notes. They are intended to be performed together.
