The lyrics tell of the two shepherdesses who discovered the stable with the baby Jesus and his mother. They joyfully run to tell the villagers the news. This arrangement allows harpists to create a soothing sound for the sleeping baby. Arranged for Lever or Pedal Harps, it is in the key of G. The melody is divided evenly between parts. Dynamics are clearly marked. There are tolling of bells within the introduction, interlude and ending.

It travels from the key of G, through the key of C to the key of F. The melody is equally divided between parts. Dynamics are clearly marked. You will receive Score, Harp I & Harp II. The Multi-level pieces were initially arranged in an A Version. When that was completed, it was then simplified to form the B Version.  The B Version has thinner lines and allows more time for placing the fingers. The purpose is to permit harpists of various playing levels to enjoy performing together.

This arrangement uses a traditional, march-like tune that has been used for at least six Christian Hymns. There is a chromatic in each verse. The lever harp players will need to drop a couple notes in order to make the chromatic. The dynamics and pedal/lever changes are clearly marked.
