Originally written in 1942 for the musical film Sun Valley Serenade, At Last was recorded several times by various artists before it ended up in the hands of Etta James. Her recording soon became the landmark version of the song, and perhaps her best-known signature song; it was even inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999!
