Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1148795

Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Robert Shuler. Chamber,Christian,Christmas,Classical,Holiday. 4 pages. Robert Shuler #748934. Published by Robert Shuler (A0.1148795).

Medley of 5 Christmas Carols, reminiscent of music I've heard performed in winter street festivals. Deck the Halls, followed by O' Christmas Tree, Jolly Old St. Nicholas, Good King Wenceslas, and the Ukrainian Carol (Ring Christmas Bells, or Carol of the Bells). Optional double stops for a professional performance, otherwise easy level, except for the Ukrainian Carol which is just hard to simplify. I just love it, and with the war, wanted a real killer of an arrangement. It's very dramatic. Just a few easy double stops and you can do all five with the bells. Listen and you will want to perform! Score & parts provided.

Celebrate the Season with a Beloved Christmas Carol: We Wish You a Merry Christmas for Violin and Cello
Bring the joy of Christmas caroling to your string duet with this delightful arrangement of We Wish You a Merry Christmas. This festive piece, originally a traditional English carol from the 16th or 17th century, captures the spirit of the season with its simple yet charming melody.

Perfect for:

Christmas recitals and performances
Spreading holiday cheer at seasonal gatherings
Beginner to intermediate violin and cello players

Historically Accurate Background:

While the exact origin remains unknown, We Wish You a Merry Christmas is believed to have stemmed from a 16th-century English tradition. Back then, carolers would visit wealthy households during Christmas Eve, singing carols in exchange for treats like figgy pudding, a type of raisin or plum pudding. The playful lyrics reflect this custom, adding a touch of merriment to the song.
