This version is arranged as a duet in a Jazz Shuffle/Swing style for one Violin and one Cello. Click on the YouTube link above to listen to a full length performance of this arrangement played on Clarinet. The melody of Ding Dong Merrily on High first appeared in a French book of secular dance tunes during the sixteenth century. The Christmas lyrics we know and love were added much later by English composer and rector George Ratcliffe Woodward and first published in 1924. With a performance time around of three minutes, this version of Ding Dong Merrily on High is perfect for seasonal celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. The jazz shuffle style is a fun and fresh take on this familiar traditional tune.Ding Dong Merrily on High is arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. Rhythms are syncopated, as one would expect in swing music, and there is plenty of articulation detail to help deliver an authentic style. While the key is straightforward, there are several chromatic passages to keep players on their toes. The melody is played twice, with short bell-chiming intros and outros. This arrangement is suitable for players at an intermediate or early advanced level. Score and parts. 16 pages. Custom Chamber Music #3483787. Published by Custom Chamber Music (A0.722585). Sometimes this tune is called Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, sometimes it's called Baa Baa Black Sheep, and sometimes it's called The Alphabet Song. But back in Mozart's day, it was known as the French folk tune Ah, vous dirai-je maman. Mozart composed a lovely theme and variations on this melody for piano in 1781 (K. 265/300e).This is an exhilarating arrangement for violin and cello. Although the violin gets more melody, the cello part is every bit as interesting. Some of the variations are quite challenging, allowing each musician to show off their musical skills.Instrumentation:1. Violin2. CelloThe music has been transposed to D to better fit the instruments. This purchase includes a full score and parts for all instruments.

It works great for offertories, special music for a worship service, or for the Concert where inspirational music is desired. Arranger - also as a Violinist - is very experienced(with I Musici - world famous Chamber group of Italy), and his works are very loved world widely. And, especially, Shown Bowing sign(Violin and Cello parts) and Fingering(Violin part) will be very helpful to player. As far as the main theme is concerned, it is arranged in the form of violin and cello playing alternately. This makes the performer more interested. Attached music file is recorded with two Violins, it’s just for a reference. “SCORE ONLY“.

Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802666 Composed by Henry Thornowitz. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Baroque. Score and parts. 2 pages. Peet du Toit #6333509. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802666). A gavotte is a dance of French peasant origin marked by the raising rather than sliding of the feet. 2 : a tune for the gavotte in moderately quick â´/â‚„ time. Although a gavotte is not intended to be faster than circa 66 b.p.m., it is possible that the 4/4 time could have been a 2/2 in metre - thus dancing music. The upbeats at the beginning of a section is meant to be somewhat slower (raising the feet) as an anticipation for the dance to follow (like an 'on-your-marks' effect). Enjoy!
