Composed by George R. Poulton. Arranged by Homco/Crinion. Folk,Historic,Wedding. 5 pages. Homco/Crinion #1036614. Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1457585).

Aura Lee is an American Civil War Song from 1861. The tune is familiar to modern audiences because Elvis Presley used the melody for his 1956 hit song Love Me Tender. It is a sentimental balld, but also a classic in American Folk Music. This arrangement for Violin & Cello begins with the instruments in very close harmony. For the second verse, the violin takes the melody up an octave while the cello plays accompanying pizzicato and arco arpeggiated figures. The violin then soars with an obligato descant while the cello plays the tune in its rich middle register. For a full circle ending, the D.C al Fine brings everyone back to the original close harmonies for the final statement of the tune.

Composed by David McKeown. Blues,Easter,Pop,R & B,Rock. Score and parts. 3 pages. David McKeown #6293947. Published by David McKeown (A0.591447).

The Easter Egg Rock is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Violin and Cello.

The Easter Egg Rock is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Modern Rock music has its origins in Rock’n’Roll, with the first use of the word in 1951 by an Ohio DJ.  The first big hit was Bill Haley’s Rock Around the Clockin 1955, but other artists such as Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Gene Vincent and Little Richard all have strong claims to being the first Rock’n’Roll artist.

The Easter Egg Rock is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Easter Egg Rock is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal.
