Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587762 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by David McKeown. Children,Concert,Film/TV,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score and parts. 8 pages. David McKeown #4845719. Published by David McKeown (A0.587762). Sleeping Beauty, is the second ballet of three composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Here, the famous Waltz is arranged for Violin and Cello Duet, directly from the orchestral score. The first performance of the ballet was in St Petersburg in 1890. Like his other ballets, Sleeping Beauty was slow to gain popularity with the public and international recognition only came after Tchaikovsky’s death. Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The melody is expressive and legato; Both parts require dramatic dynamic contrasts and both parts explore a wide range of the instrument. The overall performance time is around five minutes. The linked youtube performance is the clarinet version of this arrangement. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.591167 Composed by David McKeown. Easter,Folk,Jazz,Ragtime,Traditional. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6285027. Published by David McKeown (A0.591167). The Candy Cakewalk is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Violin and one Cello. The Candy Cakewalk is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. The Cakewalk was popular in the early twentieth century but its origins go back to slave plantations in the nineteenth century where dancers would often compete for a prize of cake. The music was a marriage of European March and African-American syncopation and was a forerunner of Ragtime. The Candy Cakewalk is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo, some syncopated rhythms and accidentals. The playing-time is around one and a half minutes, but can be lengthened by adding repeats at the performer’s discretion. The Candy Cakewalk is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Click on the link above to hear a full YouTube performance played on the clarinet version of this duet. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565638 By Sharon Wilson. By Peter C. Lutkin. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Children,Easter,Folk,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 9 pages. Sharon Wilson #5038361. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565638). The inspiring poem by Sidney Lanier titled Into the Woods My Master Went has been set to a variety of tunes. This string duet arrangement (for VIOLIN and CELLO) uses the hymn tune by Peter C. Lutkin. Set in a minor key, the solemn, reflective melody matches the deeply thought-provoking lyrics (see below). Though the lyrics may seem archaic at first, by reading through the words and meditating on the meaning, the beauty of the message becomes clear. This song is especially suited for a prelude or offertory during the season of Lent and Easter.Verse 1 Into the woods my Master went, Clean forspent, forspent, Into the woods my Master came, Forspent with love and shame. But the olives they were not blind to Him. The little grey leaves were kind to Him, The thorn tree had a mind to Him, When into the woods He came. Verse 2 Out of the woods my Master came And he was well content; Out of the woods my Master came, Content with death and shame. When death and shame would woo Him last, From under the trees they drew Him last, ’Twas on a tree they slew Him-last When out of the woods He came. Two unique verses are included interspersed with flowing and melodious interludes. The VIOLIN carries the melody for both verses. All notes for both the VIOLIN and CELLO are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. Being in a minor key, a few D#’s are scattered throughout the VIOLIN part which may require planning alternate fingering for smooth note transitioning. The purchase price includes a 4-page combined score with both parts on each page plus separate 1-staff scores for the VIOLIN and CELLO (2 pages each). This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection titled Easy String Duets: Easter Hymns (A Collection of 10 Easy Violin and Cello Duets).
