Written by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice, the original version was sung by Jimmy Cliff and Lebo M. Hakuna Matata means no worries in Swahili. The song was nominated for an Oscar in 1995 but was was beaten to the award by Can You Feel the Love Tonight, another song from the same film. Musicians at an intermediate standard will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances. Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.590621 Composed by David McKeown. Broadway,Holiday,Love,Musical/Show,Wedding. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6216909. Published by David McKeown (A0.590621). Love is a beautiful original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Violin and one Cello, and is one of series of pieces celebrating Love in different languages around the world. This duet is inspired by the songs from the great American Songbook. Musical theatre on Broadway reached its heyday in the ‘30s and ‘40s with composers such as George Gershwin and Cole Porter writing regular new shows. This period coincided with the jazz and swing era; as well as countless instrumental interpretations, singers such as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald brought these songs to new audiences outside the theatre. They remain popular today, providing a soundtrack for every romantic occasion, and Love aims to capture the melody, form and spirit of these timeless songs.Love is written for players at an intermediate standard and upwards. Expressive throughout, after the rubato preamble, the song is a classic 32 bar AABA structure. Love has a performance time of around three minutes and a half minutes. Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844657 By Margery McKay. By Richard Rodgers. Arranged by Phil Beaman. 20th Century,Broadway,Musical/Show,Standards. Score and parts. 4 pages. Phil Beaman #4885733. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844657). Climb Ev'ry Mountain, from the stage musical The Sound of Music, is a favorite repertoire standard. This instrumental duet arrangement is written in an expressive way which allows that beautiful melody to soar with some gentle reharmonizations to freshen it. The lower instrument has a walking bass line accompaniment initially, then takes over the melody while the upper instrument has a running flourish. Both parts dramatically cover a full range of 2 1/2 octaves. Unlike many arrangements of this piece which go for bombast, I keep it gentle and quiet with the interest being in the subtle expressive interplay of the two parts. A guaranteed crowd pleaser at any performance.(Written for my son's Graduation Banquet, proudly performed as a Father-Son duet.)2 page score, 1 page parts3:30 mintemporary recording is piano reduction of parts
