Eight Tarot Cards for Madam Rubio! was originally a 22-movement work for two pianos entitled, The Visconti-Sforza Tarot Cards. I sent a copy of the two-piano version to Nancy Zeltsman who, with Janis Potter, recently created the marimba duo, Madam Rubio. They thought some of the pieces could translate very well as pieces for marimba duo. I have to give complete credit to Nancy's ingenuity and creativity for this version. The transcription, arrangement and order of Eight Tarot Cards for Madam Rubio! are completely hers. [The numbering of the movements may look bizarre, but it is the original Tarot numbering.]

I. Il Saltimbanco ... The Mountebank shuffles his cards and does a samba.
XVI. La Torre ... The Tower topples and crashes onto the populace gathered below.
II. La Papessa ... The High Priestess concocts a magic potion.
XXI. Il Mondo ... The World would be a happier place if we all dance together.
XIII. La Morte ... Death lurks around the corner.
X. La Ruota della Fortuna ... Fortunes rise and fall unpredictably.
III. L'Imperatrice ... The Empress dances all night.
XIX. Il Sole ... Sunshine, margaritas and salsa cubana. And if an encore is requested ...
XVII. La Stella ... Twinkle, twinkle, little star ...

[Marimba I requires a 4.5 octave (low E) instrument and Marimba II requires a 5-octave (low C) instrument.]

Composed by Adam Lenhart. Contemporary. Individual part. 5 pages. Adam Lenhart #4969133. Published by Adam Lenhart (A0.949340).

This intense mallet solo uses mixed meter to evoke an exciting and slightly chaotic of the climax of a town celebration. Each section embodies a different group of people celebrating and dancing in their own unique style, as if the audience were in the center of the dance looking around at the variety of cultures contained in the festival. Moonlight Festival Dances is an original piece that encompasses a variety of emotions and tones and requires the player to swiftly change between time signatures, styles and keys.

Suitable for 3-octave marimba, xylophone or vibes; 2-mallets, unaccompanied.

Composed by Adam B. Grim. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 5 pages. Adam B. Grim #4331275. Published by Adam B. Grim (A0.939366).

The marimba piece All Good Things Start With a Dream comes from seeing the sunrise and sunset across many places in the United States during Ohio Northern’s National Singers Tour of 2016. As I was sitting in the back of our host’s car, my friend Shawn was talking to our gracious host about his aspirations of becoming a teacher even though he was starting later in life. During the conversation, we were driving across the prairie to the home we would be staying in. As our host said, Follow your dreams, and your life will never be boring Shawn replied, Oh definitely. I believe that all good things start with a dream. That is the inspiration for this piece. Sunrise, inspiration, and a dream.

Composed by Adam Grim. Contemporary. Individual part. 10 pages. Adam B. Grim #5360035. Published by Adam B. Grim (A0.939368).

Five four-mallet solos from my early work as a composer. They each depict an aspect or event of the campus of Ohio Northern University that happened as a freshman there. Most of these ideas were written when I was in high school, but they got some additional work as I went through my freshman year. These are not my best work, but they are good teaching tools that I have used a couple of times for short lessons on certain techniques for four-mallet marimba playing.
Sorry. There are no sound files as of now. The sound files were corrupted somewhere between the three computers they've been on over the past 6 years.
