This was written when I was 16 years old (I agree, it sounds like it) but, I included it because it was performed successfully and I really enjoyed playing it. I performed it the following year at Indiana All-State Solo & Ensemble competition and received a superior rating. It opens with a cadenza that should be played with harmonics to obtain the desired sound. It is full of arpeggios and dynamic surprises. I believe it is a good solo for the developing saxophonist.
