This is the well-known violin piece (Liebesleid or, Love's Sorrow by Fritz Kreisler) with the piano accompaniment arranged for guitar.   The marking, Tempo di Landler, allows for some flexibility, as evidenced by the various recordings available.  I think an initial tempo of quarter note = 152 provides a nice lilt, contrasting with the poco meno mosso sections at about quarter note = 138.Contact:  tstanley@fsu.edu (email).

This is the beautiful Meditation for violin from Massenet's opera, Thaïs, arranged with guitar accompaniment.  The violin part has not been altered, and many violinists might prefer to play from parts they have in their personal libraries.  The guitar part is straight-forward and perhaps not as difficult as some other arrangements, using standard tuning (rather than the tempting scordatura for pieces in D), and staying in the lower positions where possible.  Chord symbols have been added for reference, and perhaps make the piece accessible to guitarists who don't read standard musical notation.Contact:  tstanley@fsu.edu  (email).

FABRICATION of 3 Ideas for 2 Instruments is a five minute piece for violin and guitar.  The 3 ideas are woven into a fabric that is sometimes rough and scratchy, sometimes smooth and silky.  The audio sample is a recording from 2007 of the extraordinary Duo46.  It was written in 1980 for the wonderful violinist, David Brown, who died much too soon, and to whom it is dedicated.  The notes D and B (his initials) provide structural (and for me, emotional) significance to the piece.Contact:  tstanley@fsu.edu  (email).
