Thanks, John.   On My Own is a duet by American singers Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald.  It was written and produced by Burt Bacharach and his then-wife Carole Bayer Sager and originally recorded by singer Dionne Warwick for inclusion on her album Friends (1985).  The two performers were in separate cities when they recorded their individual parts which were then married during mixing.  This was reflected in the music video produced to promote the song, which depicted LaBelle and McDonald performing the song simultaneously on different coasts.  The singers were shown on separate sides of a split screen, each singing the song while walking through apartments which had identical layouts but different decor and furniture.  The views from their respective porches, where they finished the song, made clear their separation by the continent.

Starmaker - Arrangement for Voice, Piano and Guitar by Michael Thomas CoullStarmaker is a song written by Carole Bayer Sager and Bruce Roberts for Roberts' self-titled album in 1977.  It was later popularised in 1982 as the second single by The Kids From Fame, the recording group of the Fame TV series based on the 1980 film of the same name.  The Kids from Fame released five albums and five singles in the UK between 1982 and 1983 with music featured in the TV show.  The group's self-titled debut album was released in July 1982 which topped the UK Albums Chart for twelve weeks.  Their debut single Hi Fidelity was released and this reached number five, while their second single Starmaker entered the UK charts at number 38, then stayed on the charts for 10 weeks peaking at number three, the highest charting of The Kids from Fame’s singles.  In 1983 the song reached fifth place in the Dutch chart, with nine weeks in total.  In the United States, WIFI-AM-Philadelphia deemed it a 'Playlist Top Add-on'.

Thanks, John.  Nobody Does It Better is a power ballad and the theme song for the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).  It was the first Bond theme song to be titled differently from the name of the film since Dr. No (1962),  Among the most successful Bond themes, the song spent three weeks at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100.  It hit No. 1 on the Billboard Easy Listening chart, where it stayed for seven weeks, becoming the No. 1 Adult Contemporary hit of 1977.  At the 20th Annual Grammy Awards held in 1978, Nobody Does It Better received a nomination for Song of the Year, and Carly Simon was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female.In 2004.  Nobody Does it Better was honored by the American Film Institute as the 67th greatest film song as part of their 100 Years Series.
