Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.697561 By Pete Seeger. By American Folk Tune. Arranged by Sandy McIntire. Children,Comedy,Country,Folk,Instructional. Score. 7 pages. Sandy McIntire #5209727. Published by Sandy McIntire (A0.697561). Big Rock Candy Mountain is an all time favorite folk tune that can be dated back to the 1890s. It was recorded in 1928 by Harry McClintock and popularized in the 1930s by Woody Guthrie and in the 1960s by Pete Seeger. Over the years, the words, originally bawdy, changed to fit the times and audiences, but always remaining true to the hobo's dream of paradise. The lyrics in this arrangement are those of Pete Seeger. The tune is provided for voice, fiddle, mandolin, and piano and includes chords for guitar and banjo. Another more elaborate arrangement for fiddle is included in McIntire's Mountain Momma Fiddle Tunes series and also available on this web site.  .
