Another beautiful Catalan folk song (a Christmas tune - the Mother is, of course, Mary, mother of Christ), well-known to guitarists in Miguel Llobet's solo guitar arrangement from his 16 Folksong Settings. The arranger, Francesc Alió, not only collected and arranged Catalan folk songs, in 1892, he composed the Catalan national anthem, Els Segadors, based on a folk tune from his collection, Canciones populars catalones.
