Andrew Mc Donald (Macka Records) #1000171. Published by Andrew Mc Donald (Macka Records) (A0.1418597). Ready To Go is a song about the 10 virgins that are waiting for the bridegroom to arrive. 5 of them forget to bring oil with them to fuel their lamps. The bridegroom is a long time coming and they fall asleep. Then the foolish virgins with no oil go out to buy oil just as the bell chimes. The bridegroom arrives and the door is shut, only the virgins who were ready could go in for the wedding. When Jesus returns we too need to be ready and watching with oil in our lamps. This is the piano and vocal score.

Thanks, John.  He'll Have to Go is an American country and pop hit recorded on October 15, 1959, by Jim Reeves. The song, released in the fall of 1959, went on to become a massive hit in both genres early in 1960. The song is about a man who's talking by telephone to the woman he loves, when he realizes that another man is with her. The recording features a small group of musicians: Floyd Cramer on piano, Marvin Hughes on the vibraphone, Bob Moore on bass, Buddy Harman on drums, Hank Garland on guitar, and the Anita Kerr Singers providing the background vocals. Country music historian Bill Malone noted that He'll Have to Go in most respects represented a conventional country song, but its arrangement and the vocal chorus put this recording in the country pop vein. In addition, Malone lauded Reeves' vocal styling - lowered to its natural resonant level to project the caressing style that became famous - as being why many people refer to him as the singer with the velvet touch..

Let Me Go, Lover was first featured on the television program Studio One on November 15, 1954, and caught the fancy of the public. Mitch Miller took advantage of the recording's exposure on national television and sent copies of the record to 2,000 disc jockeys, who began to play it on their radio stations. A result of the program was to illustrate how efficiently a song could be promoted by introducing it to the public via radio or a TV production.

Fred Coots with lyrics by Haven Gillespie. Numerous versions of the song have been recorded, and it has since become a pop and jazz standard. Alec Wilder terms Coots' melody a minor masterpiece. According to Ted Gioia, “’You Go to my Head’ is an intricately constructed affair with plenty of harmonic movement. The song starts in a major key, but from the second bar onward, Mr. Coots seems intent on creating a feverish dream quality tending more to the minor mode. The release builds on the drama, and the final restatement holds some surprises as well. The piece would be noteworthy even if it lacked such an exquisite coda, but those last eight bars convey a sense of resigned closure to the song that fittingly matches the resolution of the lyrics.
