Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1268127 Composed by Randy Brooks. Arranged by Michael Thomas Coull. 20th Century,Christmas,Comedy,Country,Holiday. Score. 12 pages. MTC Publishing #860686. Published by MTC Publishing (A0.1268127). Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer - Arrangement for Voice, Piano and Guitar by Michael Thomas CoullGrandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer is a novelty holiday song. Ā Written by Randy Brooks, the song was originally performed by Elmo & Patsy, the husband-and-wife duo of Elmo Shropshire and Patsy Trigg in 1979.Ā The lyrics tell the story of a grandmother celebrating at a Christmas Eve party with her family when, while drunk on eggnog and off her medication, she staggers out into a snowstorm despite everyone imploring her not to. Ā She is found the next day, trampled; Santa and his reindeer are determined to be the culprits when 'incriminating Claus marks' are found on Grandma's back. Ā Grandpa seems completely unfazed by his wife's demise and spends the holiday 'watching football, drinking beer and playing cards with cousin Mel', while the rest of the family mourns Grandma's death and wonders if the gifts they bought for her should be returned.Ā  Christmas dinner otherwise goes on as normal, with a centrepiece of roast goose, figgy pudding for dessert, and 'blue and silver candles' to match Grandma’s hairpiece. Ā The upshot is a warning to the listeners that Santa is unfit to carry a driver's license! This arrangment of Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer is for solo voice, piano and guitar, but also contains harmonized sections (backing 'oohs', and the final few bars) that also enable this arrangment to be performed by an SSA choir - with the majority of it sung in unison.Ā  However it is performed, it is a great choice for a fun, novelty song for Christmas.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1009194 Composed by An-lun Huang. 20th Century,Christmas,Classical. Score. 38 pages. DoReMi Edition #594856. Published by DoReMi Edition (A0.1009194). Based on the fairy tale ā€œThe Little Match Girlā€ by Hans Christian Anderson (1805-1875), the famous Danish writer, the Beijing Ballet School of China commissioned An-Lun Huang to compose this ballet in 1977. The play was written by Zhang Dun-yi, and the choreographers were Wu Fu-kang and Huang Buo-hong. The premiere took place in Beijing in 1977. It was performed by the school and the Central Opera House Orchestra, conducted by Zheng Xiao-ying. The music is written in Nineteen Century-Romantic style with some strong Scandinavian flavor. Margot Fonteyn, one of the most important ballet dancers of our age, claimed that ā€œthe composer has composed the very, very, very good music for this ballet ! ā€œ She then produced a movie of it, which has been broadcasted by the PBS of U.S.A. in early of eighties. Since the great success of the premiere, this ballet and its music have been widely performed and warmly received. A tape of it was also released in China. This is the story of the ballet: In a little Danish town in the nineteenth century, Betty, a little girl who lost her mother, was selling matches along the street during Christmas time. The sound of the church bell reminded her that the time was quite late, but she was unable to go home until she completed her job. An old man came to light the street lights. He gave her some money and left. Betty tried to sell her matches to a carriage, but the carriage just ran away. Snow fell, cold and hungry, she lit a match on the wall to warm herself. A group of ā€œFire Fairiesā€ appeared. They danced around her and got her warm. Since they disappeared so quickly, Betty lit another match. She saw a big dining room with a beautiful Christmas tree and a lot of food. While some bus boys were handing her a piece of roasted goose, the typical Danish Christmas food, a nobleman in a portrait hanging on the wall suddenly moved. Everything disappeared again. Betty immediately lit the third match, a ā€œSwan Lakeā€ with a beautiful garden appeared. She met her mother with tears because the mother had passed away for years. Mother got a pair of little red shoes for her as the Christmas gift and danced with her. The ā€œPortrait noblemanā€ brought the mother out of the scene. Everything was gone but the snow storm. The church bell sounded again, with the morning dawn, the old man came to extinguish the street lights. He found the frozen body of the little girl.

Purchase the single MP3 here: https://amzn.to/3PvNCHK The accompaniment MP3 track is also available for download Note from Deborah: Are you embracing your inner superheroine? I get it—navigating life's hurdles while donning our invisible capes can feel like a whirlwind circus act. To claim the title of Superwoman, you've got to juggle the whole shebang: home life, career acrobatics, kid wrangling, spouse wrangling (or partner wrangling, let's keep it inclusive), and just the general chaos of existence. It's the kind of balancing act that'd make a Cirque du Soleil performer jealous! Speaking from the trenches myself, I've done my fair share of plate-spinning: managing a household, enduring the rollercoaster ride of a career (complete with loop-de-loops), wrangling three sons who seem to have synchronized their mischief, keeping a marriage afloat through the stormy seas and dealing with the curveballs life tosses our way. And let's not forget society's laundry list of expectations: staying fit, maintaining a Pinterest-worthy home, being the rock for our loved ones... and that's not even touching on the culinary escapades! And let's raise a toast to the single moms out there, pulling off the ultimate juggling act—balancing multiple jobs, raising the next generation of superheroes, and keeping the household shipshape. They're the Superwomen on turbocharged overdrive! It's no wonder that the song Superwoman resonates with us—it's our anthem, our battle cry, and our reminder that we're all superheroes in our own right!
