She's Like The Swallow, also known as She's Like A Swallow is a traditional folk song which originated from Newfoundland in Canada and has been adopted by many Irish singers due to its strong Celtic flavour. The song tells of a young girl who enters into a relationship, falls in love and becomes pregnant. Her lover leaves her and devastated and heartbroken she takes her own life. A beautiful and haunting song which has been performed by many throughout the years.

Catalan folk songs have a quality quite unlike anything else, and certainly nothing like the music we so readily associate with Spain - 'Flamenco' and 'Cante jondo'. The most famous of these is the achingly beautiful and utterly haunting El Cant dels ocells (Song of the Birds), made famous by the great Catalan cellist, Pablo Casals, and set (twice!) by Joaquin Nin, as well as an exquisite solo guitar version by Federic Mompou. All have this haunting and ethereal quality. An Eriskay Love Lilt, or Gràdh Geal Mo Chridh to give it's original Gaelic title is a popular Scottish song, originating in the small island of Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides. The English lyrics were added in 1905 by popular Scots singer Marjory Kennedy-Fraser, who embarked on a project to save many declining Gaelic songs. The song is now very popular and has been recorded by Aled Jones, The Corries and Jean Redpath. The tune is also popular with Scottish churchgoers, with new lyrics and title Lord of life, we come to you.
