Thanks, John.  Can't Buy Me Love is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released in March 1964 as the A-side of their sixth single.  It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership.  The song was included on the group's album A Hard Day's Night and was featured in a scene in Richard Lester's film of the same title. The single topped charts in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Sweden.  In the UK, it was the fourth highest selling single of the 1960s.  The song's verse is a twelve-bar blues in structure, a formula that the Beatles seldom applied to their own material.  When pressed by American journalists in 1966 to reveal the song's true meaning, McCartney stated: I think you can put any interpretation you want on anything, but when someone suggests that 'Can't Buy Me Love' is about a prostitute, I draw the line.  He went on to say: The idea behind it was that all these material possessions are all very well, but they won't buy me what I really want.  However, he was to comment later: It should have been 'Can Buy Me Love' when reflecting on the perks that money and fame had brought him.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.801548 Composed by Connie Boss. Christian,Christmas,Gospel,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Connie Boss #6097477. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801548). This is version number 2 of this song. I decided to make an SATB version of the first one I did that was a duet. I decided to change the bridge. I decided I really liked it, so I condensed it somewhat into a duet with the new bridge. You can listen to both and decide which one you like better. I really love this song because when I wrote it, I thought back about how life would have been back in those days as apposed to life today. In some ways, life was much simpler, but at the same time a hard life. Today is similar but in a different way. Some things are easier but life is not as simple as it once was. I can't imagine an angel appearing before me and giving me a message from God as what happened to Mary and Joseph. cdboss@cvalley.net. Lyrics below.

A non-exclusive song for the winter holidays that expresses the giving spirit of the season without referencing any specific religion. (OK, there's a musical nod to Silent Night.) My challenge to myself was to write a spiritual holiday song without ever mentioning Christmas... to celebrate EVERY baby's birth and the season of giving. The song is available for Solo voice, SSA choir with solos, SSA (no solos), and optional Violin or Flute part. Formats: with written piano part (simple - please embellish!) or Lead Sheet (melody, words, chord names - less pages to print!), lead sheet for Violin or Flute. Whew!Lyrics:All I Really Want is Peace on Earth(c)2017 Lois J Henrickson (Lytingale) When they ask me what I wish forOn this holy holiday,I can only think of all the waysThe world has lost its way.And I hope that we will see the LightIn every baby’s birth,And expand our love to everyone. All I really want is peace on earth, peace on earth.Yesterday I saw an angel. She was teaching kids to read. And another one gave up his coatFor somebody in need.Oh, it’s all around the cityAnd in every single town,Lots of people helping people. All they really want is peace on earth, peace on earth. And if you search the whole world over,This is what you’ll see:People just want to take care of their family. And when we realize our differences areReally very small,Every person is a part of us all. Everybody has a purpose,Their place is guaranteed.Doesn’t matter what they look like,Or what holy books they read.Oh, we all belong togetherIn one caring family. We are here to love each other. All we really want is peace on earth,Peace on earth,Sweet peace on earth,Peace.

It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and was sung by actress Judy Garland. Arlen would often carry blank pieces of music manuscript in his pockets to jot down short melodic ideas. He described how the inspiration for the melody to Over the Rainbow came to him suddenly while his wife Anya drove: I said to Mrs. Arlen... 'let's go to Grauman's Chinese ... You drive the car, I don't feel too well right now.' I wasn't thinking of work. I wasn't consciously thinking of work, I just wanted to relax. And as we drove by Schwab's Drug Store on Sunset I said, 'Pull over, please.' ... And we stopped and I really don't know why—bless the muses—and I took out my little bit of manuscript and put down what you know now as 'Over the Rainbow.'.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.893864 Composed by David Kai. Celtic,Folk,Pop. Score. 5 pages. David Kai #6100233. Published by David Kai (A0.893864). A song celebrating the people of Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador in Canada who helped close to 7,000 stranded airline passengers after September 11, 2001. The story of Gander and the surrounding towns has been immortalized in the Broadway show, Come From Away. The song is written in a Celtic/Newfoundland style. This song is dedicated to my spouse Marly's parents, Isaac and Sybil who were a part of the crew who helped the plane people in Gander through their involvement in the Anglican church. WHEN THE WORLD DROPS IN TO TOWN     Words and music by David Kai ©2020 On the 11th of September, in a quiet little town In a place that they call Newfoundland, all the planes were coming down Just how many were arriving, it was hard to know or tell In a quiet town in Newfoundland on the day the towers fell.  With ten thousand waiting on the ground, seven thousand on their way The schools and halls and churches were preparing for their stay And not only in Gander, but in places all around ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town. Chorus: So raise a glass to them, let’s sing a song to cheer For all the workers, cooks and clerks, for all the volunteers Who showed such kindness, who stepped up when chips were down ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town  All the stores they opened up their doors, the supplies, how fast they flew! Take it all to help the plane people, it’s the least that we can do! Aunt Winnie baked two dozen of her partridgeberry pies She said, I think those plane people will be in for some surprise! So the people were all settled, and much to their delight There were home-cooked meals and showers in homes, even trips to see the sights Though they came from countries ‘round the world, they did seem to all fit in And in kitchen parties here and there, new found friends were being screeched in.  Chorus: Soon the skies, they were reopened, just a week and they were gone Though the planes took off into the skies all the memories lingered on For what they all remember, and what’s talked of to this day Is how townsfolk cared for people who had come from far away.  So let’s sing and let’s be thankful, for each and every one Who showed us how to live together in the year two-thousand one, Let’s celebrate their kindness, for we never will forget, That in Newfoundland a stranger’s just a friend you haven’t met.  Chorus:
When the World Drops In to Town

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1510395 Composed by Bill Gaither and Gloria Gaither. Arranged by Mikhail Rimsky-Korsakov. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 32 pages. MRK Studio #1085584. Published by MRK Studio (A0.1510395). Because He Lives is a classic song (hymn) penned by one of the most lauded couples in Christian music, Bill and Gloria Gaither. This song explores how the resurrection of Christ transforms the lives of believers.   At this song's 50th anniversary, in honor of this legacy milestone, Gaither Music Group has initiated a yearlong celebration highlighting numerous performances of the song across many different platforms and genres. First released on October 18, 1971, this song was, and is, one of the most popular songs written by the Gospel Music Hall of Fame members.  “People have asked me, ‘Did you know right away that it was going to be a song that was going to be translated in other languages?’” stated Bill. “When you create a new song—and you write as many as we have–you really don’t know. Many times you write one and you think it is going to be the next ‘Amazing Grace,’ and it just dies a natural death. When we wrote ‘Because He Lives’ I felt like it was a good song, but you only find out how good a song is when people start responding to it, and the more we sang it the more people responded. I’m humbled it has been translated into so many languages and did not foresee that.”, he added.Read more here This song was commissioned by a South African Baritone Soloist, Johann Nefdt, to be performed by a Baritone Soloists, 2 Violins, Piano and Pipe Organ. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801629). As I sat one morning by the water, I noticed the sunlight twinkling and sparkling as it reflected off of it. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I wondered about a song that I might reference it. I decided to compose a lullaby for a mother singing to her baby. I think of eyes that twinkle and sparkle and your child definitely has eyes that reflect that. At least I know mine did. There is a piano accompaniment mp3 for sale if you don't play.cdboss@cvalley.netLyrics:My Baby (A Mother’s Lullaby) Composed by Connie Boss   Refrain: My baby, your eyes, twinkle and they sparkle My baby, just like sunlight on the water   Verses:   I fell in Love with you when I saw your face You are my baby, no one can take your place   Refrain:   I count your fingers and then your little toes Each time I look at you, my love for you grows   Refrain:   Your cheeks were made to kiss and I just can’t resist To kiss your little nose and your little toes   Refrain:   Bridge:   We play pat-a-cake and play peek-a-boo These are all the things that you love to do We snuggle close. Rock you to sleep And lay you down without a peep   Refrain:   Ending:   My baby, My baby

Cilia Black states that, rather than declining outright to record the song, she decided to set conditions: I said I'd only do it if Burt Bacharach himself did the arrangement, never thinking for one moment that he would. When the reply came back from America that he'd be happy to...I said I would only do it if Burt came over to London for the recording session. 'Yes,' came the reply. Next I said that as well as the arrangements and coming over, he had to play piano on the session. To my astonishment it was agreed that Burt would do all three. So by this time, coward that I was, I really couldn't back out. The song was a major hit for Cilla Black (UK) and Dionne Warwick (US). This arrangement includes the lyrics.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1324315 By Anonymous. By Anonymous. Arranged by Servaas Verbergt. Celtic,Christmas,Classical,Folk,Irish,Traditional. Score. 2 pages. Servaas Verbergt #912513. Published by Servaas Verbergt (A0.1324315). This arrangement of Scarborough Fair for acoustic or classical guitar combines the chords with the melody. It is in the guitar friendly key of A minor and can be played as solo piece or used to accompany a singer. The arrangement starts with a four measure intro before going to the melody. The theme is repeated with some little variations in the second page. The chords symbols are added on the first page so you can make your own picking patterns while accompanying. This version is in standard notation and tab. I hope this arrangement is usefull for you or your students, I didn't include any dynamics because I think that by following the melody the dynamics will flow out of your guitar by itself. But you could start the intro pianissimo, gliding smoothly into the theme. Enjoy!
