Choral Choir,Choral (TB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008437 By Dave Matthews And Tim Reynolds. By David Matthews. Arranged by Joshua Shank. Contemporary. 12 pages. B&F Music #6070469. Published by B&F Music (A0.1008437). Note from the arranger: One of the things that I’ve always loved about this song is how it sort of modernizes the language of the life of Jesus as its portrayed in the Bible.  There’s nothing about supernatural angels of the Lord who frighten shepherds abiding in the field and, instead, it begins with the story of a husband and wife grappling with the birth of a child; the Last Supper sounds like a gathering of friends at a going-away party.  The Jesus in this song is a very human one and, having sung a lot of sacred repertoire over the years, that’s a side of him I don’t feel like we talk about very much.  The original song features a lot of speak singing over a gentle guitar riff, and I’ve attempted to preserve a bit of that feel with the piano.

Choral Choir (TB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784833 Composed by McCorkle, Dennis F. Broadway,Christian,Jewish,Musical/Show,Rock. Octavo. 24 pages. DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications #11757. Published by DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications (A0.784833). ACT TWO: Song 7. The King, by Dennis McCorkle, is a contemporary pop-rock musical of the first two kings of Israel, Saul ben Kish and David ben Jesse and explores the contrasting lives and outcome of each man’s choices in life. [2 Samuel 12:1-7… - And Yahweh sent Nathan to David. And he came unto him, and said unto him: ‘There were two men in one city: the one rich, and the other poor. 2 The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds; 3 but the poor man had nothing save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and reared; and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own morsel, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter. 4 And there came a traveler unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him, but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.’ 5 And David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan: ‘As Yahweh lives, the man that hath done this deserves to die; 6 and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.’ 7 And Nathan said to David: ‘You art the man.’…] The news is brought back to DAVID and BATHSHEBA. After an appropriate period of mourning, DAVID calls for BATHSHEBA and takes her as his wife and eventually gives birth to a son. DAVID in the meantime still conceals to himself the actions that precipitated URIAH’S death. NATHAN confronts DAVID about a rich man in the town who has stolen a lamb from a poor man. DAVID outraged at the injustice tells NATHAN that the man will die for his unfeeling actions. NATHAN then reveals that he (DAVID) is that man [There Were Two Men – Nathan and the Prophetess’]. Now at last the matter is exposed and David must face his actions. As NATHAN and the prophets leave, one of DAVID’S men comes in and tells him that his son has died. Also included with your order is our new 20 page catalog of over 150 titles at no additional charge.
