This arrangement of Lost Boy for two part children's choir is designed to bring a new perspective to a song that kids love to sing. The chorus is done as a round, both capturing the beauty of hidden harmonies in the melody and using the music to enhance the feeling of being lostthat the song naturally brings out. It also showcases your ensemble in two main ways. First, the melody and harmony is spread out equally between the high and the low part giving both sides the chance to sing the part of the song they know and providing very singable harmonies that challenge young singers but do not overwhelm them. Second, there are many spots designed as solos or small ensembles, giving children the chance to shine in the spotlight. Every group I have performed this with has loved it from the very beginning.

Featuring two Canadian folk songs: I's the B'y from Newfoundland and Going Over the Sea from Nova Scotia, this spirited setting spins the tale of a boy growing up to become a fisherman like his father. Incorporating the violin (fiddle) part enhances the rollicking, dance-like mood of the piece that is offset by a slower, reflective middle section.
