Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1150640 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,Romantic Period,Traditional. 8 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #750818. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1150640). This arrangement adapted for clarinet and bassoon duet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions. Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Beethoven called Symphony No. 7 his most excellent symphony, and a music critic of the time reported, this symphony is the most melodically rich and the most pleasing and comprehensible of all Beethoven's symphonies..

Instrumental Duet Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956609 Composed by F Schubert. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Concert,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 5 pages. C Melville-Mason #6477749. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956609). Although reasonably successful in his native Austria, Franz Schubert (1797 – 1828) achieved widespread recognition only after his death, when a number of influential 19th Century composers – including Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms and Dvorak – discovered and championed his writing. Schubert’s output was considerable and covered many genres, including vocal works, symphonies, incidental music, opera, chamber music and items for keyboard.  This Moment Musical is taken from a set of 6 short piano pieces – it is number three in the collection. This arrangement for intermediate-level duo of B-flat clarinet and bassoon makes a charming addition to either a recital programme, or to general repertoire.

Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1150431 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Folk,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 6 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #750608. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1150431). This arrangement adapted for clarinet and bassoon duet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. The transcription remains faithful to the structure, with only one change in tone, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as being used as an activity in ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Turkish March (Op. 113) is the 4th movement of the operatic work: The Ruins of Athens, a set of incidental pieces written in 1812 by Ludwig van Beethoven, where the melody was originally written in 1809 as Theme with Six Variations for Piano, Op. 76. The work was written to accompany the play of the same name by August von Kotzebue, for the dedication of a new theater in Pest. Perhaps the best known part of the composition is the Marcia alla turca, In Latin America, this movement became known in Jean-Jacques Perrey's version (who titled it The Elephant never Forgets) since it was used as the opening theme of the successful Mexican TV comedy El Chavo del Ocho. The opening and the turkish march are often performed separately, and the other pieces in this set are not often heard.

Instrumental Duet Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845173 Composed by G Ludovic. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Classical,Concert,Opera,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 12 pages. Phil Beaman #6328709. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845173). The Elixir of Love is a comic opera by Donizetti about an elixir to cause two people to fall in love. It turns out that the elixir was fake (just red wine), but it caused the two persons to realize that their love had always been real. My arrangement maintains this joyful, almost comedic, side of love's feelings. Following Ludovic's earlier piano arrangement I treat just three of the opera's many themes. I have altered and enriched some of the simplistic classical chord progressions. There are now numerous markings throughout, particularly in articulation. Each part requires accurate rhythms, and each part has some virtuosic extended patterned runs. The range for each instrument is wide-2 octaves plus a third. This piece is a fun way to show your technical skills in concert or audition/competition. Or useful anyplace that you want joyful melodrama (Donizetti's own description). Also works well for pre-wedding music if you prefer the humorous side of true love instead of the sappy stuff.

Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1153399 Composed by Luigi Boccherini. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Classical,Instructional,Traditional,Wedding. 4 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #753659. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1153399). This simple arrangement adapted for clarinet and bassoon duet was imagined for a group of beginner students who want to start their immersion in classical music, of course with the help of a teacher. Even though the original work is for strings, this did not prevent this beautiful adaptation, where the original essence of the work was maintained, being made only an adaptation of the tonality and some adaptations in the tessitura of the instruments. This piece can be used for professional and academic recitals, didactic material and repertoire for ensemble practice as well, which does not prevent professional musicians and instructors from using it for performances of their preference. Luigi Boccherini was born in the city of Lucca, in northern Italy. He studied cello and became a virtuoso who eventually moved to Spain, where he worked with the Spanish royal family for the rest of his life. His String Quintet in E major, Op. 11, No. 5, G 275, was written in 1771 and published in 1775, and is one of his most famous works. The quintet is famous for its minuet and trio, third movement which is often played as an independent piece outside the context of the full quintet. This is notably the most famous, it is in 3/4 time, in the key of E Major modulating to A Major. This is a beautiful work, and not just the third movement, with good partial writing for all. The lovely, flowing melodies and rhythms are typical of Boccherini. The quintet is suitable for both concerts and home performances.

Score and parts. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #6104011. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845046). L'Hymne du Pape was written in 1864 by the great Hungarian composer Franz Liszt. It was written in honor of Pope Pius IX who was the Pope at that time. Liszt himself was then living in a monastery outside of Rome and had recently take Orders. For about 10 years he was in the religious phase of his life where he wrote sacred music. This piece was written for piano solo, but Liszt liked it so much that he did a version for pipe organ and soon thereafter a version for piano duet and then for chorus and orchestra.

Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1152448 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 7 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #752674. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1152448). This arrangement adapted for clarinet and bassoon duet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change in key, so that it is comfortable for all instruments in the formation, thus maintaining the essence of the striking melody, as well as using it for ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (To Joy), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as the instruments in a symphony, thus creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form that was to be adopted by Romantic composers. This is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy..

Instrumental Duet Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956612 Composed by J Strauss II. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 7 pages. C Melville-Mason #6477751. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956612). In his lifetime, Austrian composer Johann Strauss II (1825 – 1899) was dubbed ‘The Waltz King’, reflecting his prolific output of this type of dance music.  He also composed polkas, quadrilles, marches, operettas and a ballet. During the 1848 upheavals in the Austrian Empire, Johann II opted to side with the revolutionaries.  This allegiance had an adverse effect on his career, as well as deepening the rift between him and his father, so in due course Johann wrote several marches with titles that might encourage the establishment to forget his past pro-revolutionary sympathies. The Ottinger Reiter-Marsch was first published in 1850.  Strauss claimed that the work had been commissioned for a regiment who specifically requested the dedication to General Franz von Ottinger.  At the time, Ottinger was not very popular, largely because of his punitive attitude towards former revolutionaries. This arrangement for mixed woodwind duo of B-flat clarinet and bassoon is suitable for players of ABRSM Grade 4 - 5 standard and above.
