High voice and piano - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q475 From the opera The Dead City. Composed by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Op. 12. Duration 5 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q475. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q475). German • English.Marietta’s Lied “Glück, das mir verblieb†from the opera Die tote Stadt is one of the most popular soprano arias of the 20th century. Its sensual, dreamlike atmosphere drenched with a yearning for love allows a beautiful submerged world to resurface before its listeners, and the tender soaring cantilena continues to seduce audiences the world over. In the opera, this vocal scene is actually a duet between the unhappy widower Paul and the attractive Marietta. In Paul’s eyes, Marietta gradually takes on an ever closer resemblance to his deceased wife Marie against the morbid background of Bruges; the figures of the two women merge fatally with each other in the duet.

High Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845948 Composed by Maria Thompson Corley. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. 20 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #6265255. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.845948). These four songs were commissioned by Louise Toppin. The texts are by and about the composer's late brother, Terry (1963-88). The first, For Terry, has whole tone harmonies. Poem has a gospel/funk feel with a short moment of reggae. L'orangerie is distinctly French in its inspiration. The poignant final song, The Visitor, quotes Mendelssohn's Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, which was the only piano piece Terry would play on request. He always stopped after the easy part. The text is based on a dream the composer had a few months after her brother's death.

High Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.790001 Composed by Richard Rodgers. Arranged by W. Brent Sawyer. Broadway,Musical/Show. 15 pages. Diamond S Music #3533727. Published by Diamond S Music (A0.790001). THIS NEARLY WAS MINE from South Pacific. For SOLO VOICE (Tenor or Soprano) AND PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT (with optional Double Bass). KEY of Eb. This beautiful and exciting arrangement is from the beloved Rodgers & Hammerstein ground-breaking 1949  Broadway musical, South Pacific. This arrangement begins very simply with the soloist unaccompanied. Then the piano comes in with a dream-like delicacy with expands into a rich and lush accompaniment. The bridge gets a little spicier with a jazz waltz feel and then expands back to a warmth before a final key change that turns into a big theatrical ending. This is sure to be a real crowd pleaser. The piano accompaniment is quite difficult but there are alternate passages included to simplify the most difficult passages. There is an optional BASS part included that would add to the performance. There is no drum part included, but a drummer could easily improvised from the Bass part which would add a lot as well.
