Instrumental Duet Flute,Harp,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.502638 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Arranged by Karen Almquist, Edited by Jennifer Grady. Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 4 pages. HarpSong, Jennifer Grady and Karen Almquist #114989. Published by HarpSong, Jennifer Grady and Karen Almquist (A0.502638). “Goin Home†is a peaceful and moving flute and harp arrangement of Antonin Dvorak’s magnificent Symphony No. 9 “From the New World†2nd Movement. The arrangement in Eb begins and ends quietly in the lower register of the instruments. The flute introduces the melody over quiet eighth note arpeggios on the harp. The harp plays the melody in the second verse. “Goin Home†builds to a glorious ending with an uplifting harp glissando, full rolled chords and flute soaring in its high register. The music is full of emotion and hope. William Arms Fisher a student of Dvorak penned the moving lyrics “Goin Home†to the music. Goin' home. Goin' home. I'm a-goin' home. Quiet-like some still day, I'm just goin' home. It's not far, just close by, through an open door. Work all done, cares laid by, goin' to roam no more; Mother's there 'xpecting me, father's waiting, too, Lots of folks gathered there, all the friends I knew. Morning star lights the way, restless dream all done. Shadows gone, break of day, real life just begun. There's no break, there's no end, just a-living on; Wide awake, with a smile, going on and on. Going home. Going home, I'm just going home. It's not far, just close by, through an open door.

Flute,Harp,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1174114 By Schwarz Matthew H. By Matthew H Schwarz. Arranged by Matthew H Schwarz. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. 12 pages. Matthew H Schwarz #774278. Published by Matthew H Schwarz (A0.1174114). A four-minute haunting duet for flute and harp.  Generally modal/melodic accessible music.  There are some more advanced rhtyhms and high passages in the flute, and Bach-like runs in the harp that will require practice for intermediate musicians.  The flute goes from low C to the B an octave above the treble cleff (but, only one 3-measure passage goes above the D above the treble cleff). The harp part can be played on a pedal harp or, with a little effort, on a lever harp.  It starts in two flats, there's a middle section with F#s (with time to switch levers - the sheet music indicates some bass notes that can be skipped to flip levers), and the end adds Ab (which will require two levers flipped by reaching over with the right hand - unusual, but not too awkward with practice).  The lowest note in the harp is the G below the bass cleff (however, all notes below the bass cleff are octave doublings and could be ignored on a smaller harp), and the highest is the D above the treble cleff.

It was played at the couple’s wedding at the end of July 2021 by Gary and harpist Brigitte Langnickel-Kohler and it received a very warm response from the wedding-goers! There are plans for further concert performances in the coming months. The above recording is the world premiere! Huge thanks to Gary and Brigitte! The music is beautifully melodic with an air about it of mid-summer and pretty countryside. After just having completed The Glastry Pearl, a huge intense orchestral work, writing this gentle little Idyll was like a welcome rest and journey into a beautiful summery meadow filled with flowers and bees and warm sunshine.

Piano,Soprano Flute - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1323319 Composed by Gruber. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Christian,Christmas,Historic,Religious,Traditional. Score and part. 2 pages. Jmsgu3 #911548. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1323319). ORIGINSFather Joseph Mohr wrote the lyrics for a new Christmas Carol. He wanted a unique melody for his Christmas Eve Mass. With only a couple of hours until the service, He asked organist and schoolteacher Franz Gruber to write a song and simple accompaniment to accompany the lyrics. The result is probably the most famous Christmas carols – Silent Night.FIRST PERFORMANCEPerhaps because the organ was undergoing repairs or to ensure the accompaniment was easy enough, Mohr asked Gruber to write it for the guitar. Mohr played the guitar, and Mohr and Gruber gave the world premiere performance at the Christmas Eve Mass in 1818 at St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf in Salzburg.ORIGINAL SCOREEventually, the original score became lost, and Mohr's name was largely forgotten. Though the public initially recognized Gruber as the composer, many people began rumors that a more famous composer was responsible over time. Thus, they floated the names of Haydn, Mozart, and even Beethoven. Authorities eventually settled the matter when a manuscript in Mohr's handwriting turned up in 1820. Consequently, we learn that Mohr wrote the lyrics in 1816, and Gruber composed the melody in 1818.POPULARITYNonetheless, Silent Night is still very popular. Singers have performed this song in nearly every genre and multiple languages. Perhaps the most famous version is the one Bing Crosby crafted. This version is the third best-selling physical single recording in the history of recorded music. This recording was released in 1935 and sold at least 30 million copies.Only two songs have ever sold more. Elton John released Candle in the Wind 1997 and sold 33 million copies. The record for most copies ever sold goes to Bing Crosby. He released White Christmas in 1942 and sold 50 million physical copies.
