A common selection to perform at weddings.  It is performed in Preludes, Processional or inside ceremonies. 

Robert Burns (1759-1796) penned the words to My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose in 1794. When Burns’ main publisher turned down the poem, he offered it to Pietro Urbani who published it with his own tune In Scots Songs (1797). The lyrics have been set to many melodies, but the most famous setting uses the traditional tune Low Down in the Broom.

The hymn tune, “Resonet in Laudibus†(Let Our Praises Resound), is from the 14th Century. The first appearance of this song is in a play in 16th Century Leipzig, Germany. Additionally, it is known as “Song of the Cribâ€. The melody of the Verse without the Refrain, is known as “Christ Was Born on Christmas Dayâ€. Brahms used this melody in an Art Song for Alto & Viola.

Arranged with 3 Verses, this gently rocking lullaby features melody on Harp for the first and third verses.
