♫ This prophecy alludes to Rachel’s death near Bethlehem. Rachel dies in bitterness. Jeremiah prophecies the grief of the mothers of Jerusalem will experience at the sack of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar and personifies it as Rachel weeping. A third use of the metaphor is the mothers whose babies are destroyed at Herod the Great’s command. 
♫ Coventry Carol is 1 of 3 songs belonging to Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors, a Coventry Mystery play of the nativity. The only surviving copy of the play (and the song) is dated 1534. The text of Coventry Carol expresses horror of the murder of the innocents by Herod.
♫ To balance the darkness and grief of the music, the composer has concluded the song with a reminder of how God intervened to protect His Son and the redemption of mankind.

AMERTUME is a composition of about three minutes long for mixed choir (SATB). This piece sets to music a selection of poems taken from Guillaume Apollinaire's collection The Bestiary or Procession of Orpheus based on bitterness, a feeling felt in the face of a situation of injustice or regret. We will hear The carp, The chip and The crayfish.

 This work explores different rythmic games and rich polyphonies, combined with conventional vocal techniques, including glissandi and the spoken voice.

 AMERTUME obtains a 2nd jury prize at the EUFONIA - BORDEAUX 2021 international composition competition and is the first part of a cycle devoted to Apollinaire's work. The creation was given in Bordeaux Cathedral on October 10, 2021.

Samuel Longfellow's words from 1864 dramatically depict the bitterness of a Minnesota winter, “...all the earth lies dead and drear.� “And yet, God's love is not withdrawn� is Longfellow's faithful response to the winters in our lives. This a cappella setting for SATB choir uses changes of mode and dynamic to contrast the stark cold of the season with the warmth of “summer's joyous rays.� Composed in memory of Barbara Aspaas (1941-2014).

Growing Older  is one of my first choral compositions, told from one's perspective expressing the undeniable reality of life being temporary, yet with a hope beyond it. The music begins the first stanza of words in a slow moving tempo in D major, creating a bit of bittersweetness to the listener. Immediately following is the key of E minor, attempting to convey the emotions of sorrow over words such as Every moment becoming a memory. Finally, the piece modulates to the Dominant, A major, as a means to present hope from the final stanza describing the hope of A place that I have never known/ A place where I'll never grow old.

《酷愛》首次收錄於2007年張敬軒在香港發行的第二張粵語個人專輯《酷愛》，是該專輯的主打歌，隨後橫掃多個音樂�項，包括商業電���樂壇�行榜頒�典禮我最喜愛的歌曲大��至尊歌曲大�，也��為無綫電視�大�歌金曲頒�典禮�香港電��大中文金曲頒�音樂會年度�大之一。艾利的編曲�留大�原曲元素，尾�的��旋律在�唱團的編制輕易��，而原作編曲��少素�改由�唱團唱出。有趣的是，�唱版完全沒有出��四部一起以相�節��時演唱的和弦�織體，似是呼應歌詞中的敘事者慘�情傷無法與愛人在一起的命�。

The song Ardently Love is first released in Hins Cheung's second Cantonese album in Hong Kong, which is also the title track of the album. Since its release the song won popular acclaim with many top music awards, including Commercial Radio 2 Ultimate Song Chart Awards, TVB Jade Solid Gold Top Ten Songs Music Awards and RTHK Top Ten Chinese Songs Music Awards. Ally's choral arrangement of this popular hit retained many original elements of the song, including the counter-melody in the closing section, and choral adaptation of the original arrangement. Interestingly, the four vocal parts in the choir never sing together homophonically in this arrangement, which appears to symbolize the fate of the persona who suffers bitterly from the ardently love, never able to get together with the beloved.
