Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088976 By Matthew M Tang. By Words: Christina Rossetti Melody: Gustav Holst, Harold Darke. Arranged by Matthew M Tang. A Cappella,Christmas,Classical,Holiday. Octavo. 13 pages. Matthew M Tang #693187. Published by Matthew M Tang (A0.1088976). This beautiful arrangement combines two of the most common and well known melodies of “In the Bleak Midwinter,’ a poem written by Christina Rossetti into the same song. The first by Gustav Holst and the second by Harold Darke. This arrangement will take the audience through a journey of key signatures beginning in F Major, continuing through Bb, G, E and finally ending in Ab Major. Each key signature helps to convey the meaning of that particular verse. This is geared more towards a smaller choir, preferably a choir of 16 singers and it is also meant for one on a part situations. The harmonies in this arrangement are simple, yet powerful and reverent. I hope this arrangement helps remind us of the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. Gifts and Santa Claus are fun traditions but the real reason why we celebrate Christmas is because it is the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope you guys enjoy it!!!

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1301662 By Christina Rossetti. By Gustav Holst. Arranged by Nick Luna. A Cappella,Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday,Jazz. 8 pages. Nick Luna Music #891272. Published by Nick Luna Music (A0.1301662). This has long been one of my absolute favorite carols. I fell in love with it while singing with the Dickens Carolers of Seattle. This along with countless other caroling classics have such a wonderful sense of harmonic movement that support lovely melodies. I wanted to lean into the melodic and allow rich harmony to unfold. This arrangement is quite challenging, with plenty of intricate harmonies and sonorities and a diverse array of stylistic influences. It will take an intermediate to advanced choir to pull it off. Range is not too challenging, with the lowest bass note an F2 and the highest soprano note is an F5.  This is a blissful and serene arrangement with some spicy moments to keep things interesting. Perfect for you choir's holiday showcase!

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030990 Composed by Robert Kirby. Christmas,Sacred. Octavo. 10 pages. Robert Kirby #2959553. Published by Robert Kirby (A0.1030990). This exquisitely melancholy and evocative carol, imagining the Nativity in a snowy Northern landscape, was originally written by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894) as a Christmas poem for an American magazine, Scribner’s Monthly, in 1872. Few carols can express the quiet heart of Christmas more movingly. Gustav Holst (1874-1934) originally set the poem to music for the 1906 edition of The English Hymnal. In verse one, Rossetti describes the harsh conditions of Earth at the time of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem. In verse two, Rossetti contrasts Christ's first and second coming. The third verse portrays the differences between the transcendental angels attendant at Christ's birth and Mary's ability to render Jesus physical affection. The final verse shifts the depiction to a more introspective thought process. In this version of In the Bleak Midwinter, Georgia composer Robert Kirby has given the text a new, introspective melody.
