This is a Christmas original I was inspired to write. The shepherds couldn't quite figure out why there was such a bright star and why the baby was so special. Once they arrived in Bethlehem, they realized he was born to bring Peace on earth to all. Note: This shows going from verse 2 to bridge. You could repeat the refrain in between and/or add the refrain at the end of the piece. cdboss@cvalley.net

Lyrics:

Peace on Earth

Christmas Song

Composed by Connie Boss

Intro and Refrain:

Peace   on Earth

Peace   on Earth

Peace   on Earth

Peace   one Earth

Verse 1:

And into the still of the night

There was one star shining bright

Shepherds in their fields all around

Saw it shine down on a town

Refrain:

Verse 2:

It’s light beckoning all to come

To see the new chosen one

So they followed the bright star

They came from near and from far

Refrain:

Bridge

For some the journey took them days

Arriving there they were amazed

All of this for a baby boy:

Why were they all filled with joy?

Christ was born on Christmas morn, to bring

Peace on Earth

Peace for all

Peace for you and me.

Refrain to end.

Composed by French Carol - unknown. Arranged by Connie Boss. Celtic,Christmas,Irish,Multicultural,Sacred,World. Score. 11 pages. Connie Boss #6403321. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801673).

This lovely French carol is about two women that found out that Jesus was born and that he was very special. They went around the town to let everyone know. They made food for Mary and Joseph. They warned others to be very quiet as to not awaken Jesus if he was sleeping. This is in SATB parts with piano accompaniment. It has a unique intro and the last verse has SATB taking turns. cdboss@cvalley.net

Bring a Torch Jeanette, Isabella

French Carol

Arranged by Connie Boss

Bring a torch

Bring a torch

Bring a torch

Bring a torch Jeanette, Isabella.

Bring a torch, Jeanette, Isabella!

Bring a torch, to the stable call

Christ is born, tell the folk of the village

Jesus is born and Mary's calling.

Ah![a] Ah! Beautiful is the Mother!

Ah! Ah! Beautiful is her Child

Who is knocking on the door?

Who is it, knocking like that?

Open up, we've arranged on a platter

Lovely cakes that we have brought here

Knock! Knock! Open the door for us!

Knock! Knock! Let us celebrate!

It is wrong when the Child is sleeping,

It is wrong to speak so loud.

Silence, now as you gather around Him

Lest your noise should waken Jesus.

Hush! Hush! See how He slumbers;

Hush! Hush! See how He's fast asleep!

Softly now unto the stable,

Softly for a moment come!

Look and see how charming is Jesus,

Look at Him there,] His cheeks are rosy!

Hush! Hush! See how the Child is sleeping;

Hush! Hush! See how He smiles in His dreams

This lovely French carol has a new look with the SATB parts. Lot's of moving parts. The melody is in the alto part. It doesn't get too high for Sopranos. Perfect for your choir this Christmas. Simple piano, but the vocals make up for that. cdboss@cvalley.net

Composed by Unknown. Arranged by Connie Boss. Celtic,Christmas,Irish,Multicultural,Sacred,World. Score. 9 pages. Connie Boss #6383851. Published by Connie Boss (A0.801665).

This is a medley of 3 Christmas Carols - In the Bleak Mid Winter (English), Gesu Bambino (Italian) and The Snow Lay on the Ground (Irish). Venite Adoremus means O Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ the Lord. I thought it sounded nice to have it in SATB parts - taking turns between the high and low voices and then all together. cdboss@cvalley.net
Lyrics Below:

O Come Let Us Adore Him

(Venite Adoremus, Dominum)

(Medley of In the Bleak Midwinter, Gesu Bambino and The Snow Lay on the Ground

In the bleak midwinter, frosty winds made moan

Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone

Snow had fallen snow on snow, snow on snow.

In the bleak midwinter, long, long, ago.

When blossoms flower amid the snow, upon a winter night

Was born the Child, the Christmas Rose, The King of Love and Light.

Venite Adoremus, Dominum

Venite Adoremus, Dominum

Twas Mary daughter pure of Holy Anne. That brought into this world the God made man

She laid Him in a stall at Bethlehem. The ass and oxen shared the roof with Him.

Again the heart with rapture glows, to greet the Holy night.

That gave the world it’s Christmas Rose, it’s King of Love and Light

Venite Adoremus, Dominum

Venite Adoremus, Dominum

And thus that manger poor became a throne, for He whom Mary bore was God the Son

O come then let us join the heav’nly host to praise the Father, Son and Holy Ghost

O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord

O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord

O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord

Venite Adoremus, Dominum!

Composed by Phillips Brooks and Lewis H Redner. Arranged by Connie Boss. A Cappella,Christian,Christmas,Holiday. 9 pages. Connie Boss #907297. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1318619).

This version is for SATB voices. It has the original melody with pretty harmonies added. There are solo, duet and complete choir singing the words. Humming and ahhs are used for the solo and duets. The melody is more for an alto range. I have also added additions to each verse that is different than the original with new lyrics and music. It adds a little bit to this iconic song. Lyrics below:
O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see Thee lie
Above Thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by

Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in Thee tonight

 Shepherds watching o’re their flocks
Saw a light star down
Then they noticed that it’s light
Lit up a little town

For Christ is born of Mary
And, gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love

O morning stars, together
Proclaim the Holy birth
And praises sing to God the King
And peace to men on earth

Shepherds followed the bright star
And they were so amazed
People gathered all around
Singing hymns of praise

O Holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born for us today

We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel

In a stable was a child
Born for all to see
His mother always by His side
The newborn Prince of peace

O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see Thee lie
Above Thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by.

Composed by Phillips Brooks and Lewis H Redner. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christian,Christmas,Holiday. 10 pages. Connie Boss #907165. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1318498).

This version has an optional beginning. I have choir humming for the first three measure. There is a soloist that starts singing after that. The optional part is to not play the piano until half way through the verse. There is accompaniment if you prefer. You can hear on the mp3 how it sounds being a cappella until then. It is for SATB voices. I have also added additions to each verse that is different than the original with new lyrics and music. It adds a little bit to this iconic song.
