The original music and lyrics written by Scottish folk musician Dougie MacLean represents a connection to his homeland – family, friendships, and nature. 

This arrangement serves as a reminder of the year spent abroad in Scotland, where I had the greatest joy to be based in the northeastern city of Aberdeen. The hospitality and love extended to me by so many people left a deep impression on me, which I hope to continue to pay forward.
