It features a Soprano Soloist that is expressing her feelings of anguish against the voices of an 8 part choir with 16 part divisi closing in around her. While she sings, the choir builds thick chords around her but recede back into a unison pitch representing her solidarity. This grows until her emotional break towards the end of the piece.
