This SATB arrangement captures the exuberant tempo and rhythms of the late Renaissance, in an updated harmonic setting.  The tune was composed by Louis Bourgeois for the Genevan Psalter, as a setting for Psalm 42. The text of this arrangement, based on Isaiah 40:105, was written by Johann Gottfried Olearius in 1671, and translated into English by Catherine Winkworth in 1863.  This piece is particularly well-suited for Advent.  The duration of this arrangement is approximately 2'50 to 3'00.  The arranger, Allyson B.
