The change from carrion to kangaroo is a comical example of how traditional songs are handed down from singer to singer. This expressive new choral setting by Gerda Blok-Wilson of Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope� offers an original melody built on the Dorian mode. Here's some SPOOKTACULAR music based on a traditional melody that is accessible for the classroom or concert hall. This 2-4pt piece with or without piano accompaniment can work with any combination of voices so that young, changing voices will fit easily into one of the parts. The ostinato harmony parts are easy but have many good learning concepts. Singers can add body percussion on the rests and movement to have even more fun.
